Duff and Phelps, administrators of Rangers Football Club, issued the following statement tonight.

Paul Clark, joint administrator, said: "The use of EBTs at Rangers goes back many years and was a matter of public record in the annual accounts. Our primary focus has been ensuring the survival of Rangers Football Club and attracting a new buyer for the business as well as investigating the financial situation at the Club since the takeover in May 2011."

"We and the Club will continue to give every assistance to the football authorities on issues affecting the Club. It should, however, be noted that the First Tier Tax tribunal has yet to publish its findings in relation to the use of EBTs."

I was curious about that myself. But the statement went out before the allegations about them were broadcast.

Haven't seen the program yet, but the D&P statement was published at 8:50pm.

D&P will have been made aware of what the content of the programme was.

Of course they were they had after all the opportunity to appear on the programme and had agreed to do so then reneged, I take it the Ramsay that Daly was speaking to on the phone was Ramsay Smith of Media House.

Why are they commenting on EBT's while blanking the allegations over their involvement in the takeover funding?

They'll probably release another statement about that.

I'm expecting Grier to be made a scapegoat by D&P. They'll throw him in front of a bus to save the companies' reputation like Collyer Bristow did with Gary Withey.
