If they have any dignity and sense, they do that themselves and then can sail off nonetheless, but at least repay the support with some money. (Though some may say they've already done enough.) Obviously, agents will be out in force to see the contracts gone, so they can actually make a better deal for their players somewhere else. That said, does anyone know whether the players can simply leave now ... or whether they are actually still part of the oldco until it is liquidated? TUPE ... AFAIK is a way to make sure employers are brought to the newco "by law".
