SEETHING Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston is preparing to launch a double attack on beaks — by calling for SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s head AND suing the SPL.

 

The Pars supremo is furious over a leaked email from Regan which proved moves were afoot behind the scenes to hand Dundee Rangers’ place in the SPL ahead of his club.

 

Regan could have faced a vote of no confidence after last week’s SFL meeting but the idea was dropped at the last minute.

 

But Yorkston, who is planning to take legal action against the SPL over the decision to fast-track Dundee up ahead of them, is ready to repeat the call.

 

He said: “We will be supporting moves to get him out of his jon and I’m sure that there will be a lot of support for that.”

 

Yorkston clearly believes his club were victims of a Hampden carve-up.

 

The weeks spent not knowing what division they would be playing in has left boss Jim Jefferies unable to make plans for the campaign ahead.

 

Regan’s leaked email showed that promoting Dundee to the top flight was always on the agenda despite insistences relegated Pars were also in the frame to replace crisis-hit Gers.

 

That’s left East End Park chief Yorkston fizzing — and he is now set to demand compensation from the SPL. He said: “The news didn’t come as a great surprise to me considering the decision seems to have been taken several weeks ago.

 

“I’m not sure why they couldn’t have told us then so we could get set for life in the First Division.

 

“Instead, we have been left in limbo and are now at a disadvantage in terms of preparation.

 

“We will hold a board meeting if we can get enough directors together and the subject of legal action will be on the agenda.

 

“Good luck to Dundee but the whole process has been totally unfair.

 

“We have had a situation in which Stewart Regan has been telling people what will happen before all the proper procedures have been fulfilled. We are probably too far down the road to reverse the decision but we will certainly be looking at pursuing some form of compensation.”

Wasn't Yorkston one of the hypocrites who were annoyed about us going to court about the embargo? Deserved relegation a team has to go down other wise the "integrity" will be compromised.
