do they floss him or check his mouth for piles? The fella talks out of his arse so much you could forgive them for being confused.

According to Oor Peter, the crowds have plummeted at the meccanodome because of the economic situation (and/or b) they have CL football and/or c) there's roadworks on the M8 and/or d) the telly is getting better, so it is and/or e) people cannae find their car keys and/or every f)uckin' reason except the real one. )

Is this a different economic situation facing every other club in Scotland whose attendances are all improving this year, Pete?

ITC, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Hibs, Aberdeen and DUtd all showing about 10% increase, Hearts and Motherwell staying where they were last year. Only Celtic are showing a fall - and we can see on the TV how big a fall it is, without being told lies, Petey.

They call themselves TGFITW (nobody else does, mind you, just them) - and yet, it's to Ibrox that the French, German and American film crews are turning up and it's the Rangers fans who are raising admiration from football fans all over the world for their loyalty and character.

TGFITW? hmm, that jacket has a nice fit - and it only comes in Blue.

you need to take any attendance increases in the SPL with a pinch of salt. Many clubs like St Mirren for example have been going round local schools & boys clubs and giving away free tickets to their home SPL matches.

Others too have been giving away at least one free u16 season ticket for each adult season ticket bought. I believe Aberdeen & Hibs operated this scheme.

Im sure there will have been other attempts at inflating SPL attendances which from a business point of view simply aren't sustainable

Tom English recently tried to explain why timmys crowds are down...

Celtic fans now have the glamour, and the cost, of the Champions League to think about. It’s no surprise that some of their number are prioritising Barcelona, Moscow and Benfica over some of the domestic fare.

...at least he's admitting the domestic fare is not worth it.

His explanation for Hearts tumbling attendances.....(this is a cracker)

Last season, Hearts’ first six home games included matches against Hibs, Rangers, Celtic, Dundee United and Aberdeen. This season, their first six visitors to Tynecastle in the SPL have been St Johnstone, Inverness, Dundee, Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Ross County. Their bumper gates have yet to come.

...what bumper gates is he talking about? Rangers won't be there and timmy isn't into domestic fare due to glamour and cost of the Champions League, his words.

He offers no explanation for St Mirren's falling gates?

He did say this though.....

In their Dundee derby, United got an attendance of 13,538, three thousand more than turned up for their home match with Rangers at the beginning of last season.

Anything else, considering both clubs fans practically live in the same street as the clubs grounds, would have been an embarrassment.

...oh, and he had this to add....

In their Highland derby with Ross County, Inverness drew a crowd of 6,766, which was more than attended their first home fixture with Rangers last season.

I'm sure that was the first top league highland derby ever, yet the attendance was 1000 souls short of capacity

...incidentally, the record attendance for the Caledonian Stadium is 7,819, when Rangers came to town in 2008.

This guy actually has a job in writing for a national newspaper. :wtf::sad:

nah, 54, I'm not having that.

Tom English is actually just about the only writer working in this country who is worth a damn.

It's a bit of a rollercoaster with Tom English. Sometimes his writing is balanced and fair, but sometimes it's not.
