Lot's of Glasgow guys went to Hamburg because of the shipbuilding and associated work that went on there, most came home, but some didn't, and they invariably chose Hamburg as their 'local' side. The Celtic/St Pauli thing is relatively recent, no matter what they might claim, it might have led to a reawakening in the Hamburg support of the connection with us but the connection has been there for a while.
