Further, it would be difficult for the club to sue if what he says is accurate, factual information. Obviously there are exceptions to this, including some things which occur within the boardroom - but Walter should be able to give his own reasons for leaving. Agreed, but it appears lines are a bit blurry and the involvement of m'learned friends threatened.
