Scott Murdoch - Proposed Board Member

Recommended Posts

Oh baby! Scott by name, Scot by nature...

Scott Murdoch, the boss of London-based retail property consultant CWM, may have lost his Scottish accent since living down south, but let nobody question his devotion to his beloved Glasgow Rangers.

Murdoch, a board candidate for the struggling club, watched them “religiously” every week from the age of four. Moreover, he “had a dream” that if he was “blessed enough to have a child, then he/she would be born in my home town of Glasgow”. When his wife was about to give birth back in 2005, he took her up to Glasgow. By the time mother and baby were ready to go home, it was 2.30pm on a Saturday. Murdoch picked them up and drove them directly to Ibrox. By the time they arrived at the stadium on match day, it was five minutes before kick-off against Inverness.

Murdoch says: “Some of the 45,000 fans that day thought I was so weird taking a new baby to a game — until they saw Jamie kiss the gates and then they started cheering wildly and laughing!”

Once baby Jamie had kissed the rusty Ibrox gates, Murdoch eventually allowed his family to go back to London. His wife has finally forgiven him.
