We petition you Provost Moonie to award Johnny the Freedom of South Ayrshire in recognition of the positive impact he has had on so many lives and service to the community over so many years. There is no one quite like Johnny - his zest for life and sport and belief in young people and always encouraging them to be the best in all that they do. He ran tournaments & clubs every other day never mind week for 30 years for kids age 7 to 18.... Tennis, Badminton, Golf, Gymnastics Football clubs in Prestwick & Ayr with kids from all over Ayrshire north south and east and boys clubs from across Scotland going to the Dam Park 5s including the likes of Kris Boyd & Steven Naismith. An estimated 250 thousand kids must have benefitted in life from Johnny and the sports clubs he ran where often a lot of young lives could have taken a very different direction.
