It would be the fitting job for him and United could well do with someone of his calibre. Not sure Mourinho would fare any better. Mark hughes might be a better bet but I doubt they'll get Gardiola who's supposedly joining Man City next season. I think the world class coaches such as Gardiola would prefer to go to Chelsea or Man City in English football.
