TWO men have appeared in court charged over alleged incidents at last week’s Old Firm clash.

 

Michael Thomson, 51, faces a string of charges including being drunk at Ibrox Stadium on December 31, last year where Celtic won 2-1 over Rangers.

 

He allegedly shouted and swore at the game, contrary to the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.

 

And, it is claimed that he “resisted, obstructed or hindered” two police officers and struggled with them.

 

Thomson, from Dalry, Ayrshire, appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he pled not guilty.

 

Gerard Donnelly, 24, from Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire faces a charge of culpably and recklessly throwing a smoke bomb on to the football pitch.

 

Papers from the court claim Donnelly carried out the offence “to the danger of players, officials and supporters”.

 

He appeared from custody where he denied the charge.

 

Both men were granted bail and are due to go on trial in May.

It is sinasterly laughable! Btw it is clear some if not most editors are deliberately not quoting C****c fans. There is such an unpleasant undercurrent in Scottish society. Politically motivated with dark religious connotations.

Tbh it's not an undercurrent. They don't even hide it!.
