To be fair, I think we did say a little more than that. We at least implied that he lied, because he did. He didn't see Candeias blow the kiss (as TV evidence proves). The ridiculous thing about this statement from the SFA is that our original query suggested he had made a mistake (which is fine). We could accept he made a mistake, so this isn't about a lack of tolerance for mistakes by refs. The problem is that e didn't admit it was a mistake, and instead lied to cover up a mistake. That's the difference here. I can trust refs who make mistakes, but he cannot be trusted now. I can't understand why the SFA don't appreciate that.
