An observation, almost in passing, from Martin Ziegler's 'Sports Notebook' in today's Times:

City get nomination
One intriguing item in the full Court of Arbitration for Sport decision to overturn Manchester City’s Champions League ban was that the club did not only nominate Andrew McDougall, QC, one of the three arbitrators, they also suggested Portugal’s Rui Botica Santos be nominated as the panel’s chairman and Uefa raised no objection.

Der Spiegel, the German magazine which published the leaked emails which led to the Uefa action, has this week published more emails that would have supported Uefa’s case had they been made available.

Der Spiegel have confirmed they were approached by Uefa’s legal team during the case, but pointed them in the direction of the Portuguese hacker Rui Pinto who had originally acquired the emails. Uefa, however, did not contact his lawyer.

Curiouser and curiouser.
