I don't know if Barry and his team have been working on his too many touches  but he only took one touch and scored, lets hope next season he is a different animal, curiosity could the stat man come up with a list of how many goals Dessers has scored from different plays / angles etc to see how many touches he has before he scores or fluffs it🧐 I think I may have solved Dessers enigma code 😂

He's nearly 30 and has been consistently inconsistent throughout his career.  He is what he is.

He is also SPL's top goal-scorer and with us for at least another season as it stands. Inconsistent or not he needs backup in which 🤞 I hope he gets, get rid of flop Danilo who cost us £7 million and replace him with someone more less likely to be injured in which I don't think Dessers has been tbh.

I'm not sure how many times I have to repeat that a modern forward's job is not just to score goals.  

To be heavily reliant on one person to score goals is not good in modern football.  How many trophies have we won with Dessers up front?

How many trophies have we won with other strikers in our team in last decade, apart from Alfredo Morelos, who when we won 55 wasn't even our top scorer (IIRC)?

 

However he had players like Roofe, DeFoe, Aribo, Kent and Tav all chipping iin. Dessers has never had that luxury but has still scored goals at all levels / compitions.

Maybe if he held the ball up better, played better passes, didn't hide behind defenders so often and stopped falling over at the slightest touch fifteen times per match, we'd have won more or at least not finished miles behind in the league.

For all his faults he still manages to do the hardest thing in football on a regular basis. 

 

If only he could do all those other things and not score goals eh......
