Is Tav's time as captain up?

Agree with the second part totally. But I thought he claimed RFC released him because he married a catholic? Was that a lie? I just recall him as an average cf.

He did and he was.

Don't think he lied, but the person he claimed told him this died before the accusations arose (in his autobiography).

A very very close friend of Walter Smith, a person who has never hidden his support of Rangers (1st on the team bus when we beat Leeds, sitting before a Man U game on a chair watching an OF game are just a couple of examples).

As for your point about him being an average CF, I think SAF would agree with that assessment.

The attacking part of Tav's game stopped being effective when Clement "reigned in" our fullbacks. This was about 3 months after he took charge, when we were top of the league (with Tav contributing goals and assists).

As the saying goes, the rest is history.

Right. He was good enough at Dunfermline but disappointed on the step up. Very good manager though he got lucky in a cup final which saved his bacon.
