Liverpools youth academy has churned out world class players for years.
So why cannot WE do the same? I accept we cannot compete in the transfer market but surely our academy should be doing much much better.

I'd like to see more youngsters given more of an opportunity but the demands of Rangers really are unlike most other clubs where anything other than a win (either in one-off games or actual trophies) is seen as failure.
With that in mind often the mental capability of a young player is as important as the physical talent so I understand why so few make it here.
Does that mean we should forego a youth academy per se? Not in my opinion so perhaps we just need to accept we'll do well to see one or two come through in any 3-5 year period.
C'mon Frankie - Manure fans go into meltdown when they drop a point (so do the media). So let's not use exceptionalism as an excuse.

Sorry to raise an old chestnut, but I watched Liverpool last night play 3 teenagers from their academy in a high-pressure cup match. We had Cole McKinnon on the bench; otherwise no sign of our youngsters. Why? If they not deemed 'ready' (as Clement recently claimed of Bailey Rice) then why not? Please don't tell me that there is too much 'must win' pressure at RFC; there cannot be any less pressure at L'pool and ManCity who can afford to spend at will. In fact Scottish clubs in general are too unwilling to play youth. McInnes didn't start with the outstanding David Watson v us, yet we have seen the impact Lennon Miller has had at Motherwell. Even those blighters from the East gave a debut to an 18 year old last night.
If our youths are really not good enough, then scrap the academy. I yearn for a Rangers team where at least half are home-grown and have been brought up with the club. The pride that young lad at Anfield felt, moving from Kop to pitch puts our 'policy' to shame.

Interesting to think we're all being archived and cross-referenced for future analysis 😁 but seriously that was then, this is now and this is a completely different topic started by someone else. As my 5 year old grand daughter would say, so what who cares. 😘
I wonder where she got that from?

Benfica! Not too happy with this as I wanted to have a run in the competition.

AC Milan pls
No. Someone we can beat. Fancy Lens or another team we have not yet met.

I can't see Beale getting another top job now, maybe a league one or two team.

Great quote from Lee McCulloch: "Dessers misses chances, but he is ALWAYS there to miss them!" Priceless.

I think there's been a real difference since Sterling came on.
Only question is where do we play him?

It's definitely not a penalty.
You were saying...?

Penalty to Rangers!

I'm still blaming the pitch for a large proportion of that first half performance.
A famous Brazil manager once said, "If you know how to play football, you can play it anywhere," in response to a rival concerned about the state of the pitch.

A most expected and uninspiring display so far. Why are we always so crap after Celtic slip up?
Complacency. It's like a nervous condition; you can try to eliminate it, but it is insidious.

Yip. A one-nil win puts us ahead with a better goal difference.

Willie Henderson and Ralphie Brand?
Thanks. Was off the top of my head. Saw Scott before Willie but Ralphie was in that team.

We still have to win tomorrow - let's just concentrate on our results and performances.
You sound just like Clemente!

The yahoos drop two points after a late Killie equaliser.
'Mon the Rangers!
They are really feeling the pressure now. Hoped for this result but didn't expect it.

I think that's all the members of the first Rangers team I ever saw live now departed for the Hall of Fame in the sky.😢

Our corners are utter dross.
Yes. I thought Clemente would be good at improving our set pieces. Maybe we need to work at sclaffing a few in!

Right now I'll settle for just a 2-1.

I don’t like the idea.
Perhaps off for ten with a yellow but that clears the slate. Second yellow and off for ten again but it stays on the slate. Third yellow and you’re off.
I don’t know if I like that idea either.
Yes. If you're talking about ice hockey.
