The lack of Investment after 55 has cost us dear. The warning signs were laid out bare after the malmo dibacle last season. There should have been a clearout then but we're still running with that squad now for the most part. Even worse were giving them new contracts. The board dropped the ball big time. As for our manager, hes lost the fans with pitiful displays week in week out. That we can be so poor and still be second in the league is testament to the quality of the league. The humiliating displays against the east end scum and the capitulation in the CL are more than enough for me. The manner in which we lose is too much to bare for most fans and the majority have had enough. The one thing over all that annoys me with our manager is that he never accepts responsibility. That buck is always passed on to the players . We're a lame duck and as long as gios manager I just don't see him turning him around. He has to go.

Just watched the post match interview and the one person who isn't accepting responsibility is the manager. The fans have lost confidence in him. He doesn't know it yet but I think he'll find out in the coming weeks if things don't improve.

Tavs deliveries are terrible

McCann overlooked again and two holding midfielders against mediocre opposition. Davis should be retired. He's well past his sell by date.

Le Guen was the only Rangers manager who recognised what Adam could bring and used it.
Did leguen not let mcormack go without looking at him?

We had our awful games under SG as well, but we did tend to learn and take on board lessons.
Also fair to say that SG never had to play against elite clubs in the CL like Liverpool and this Napoli team.
However, what is damming is the failure to take on board lessons from the Parkhead debacle of a first half in Feburary and apply them in September. Not only not take on board, but actually get worse. Then Gio says he told them prior to the game. The players not applying thse instructions says a lot.
Next reference for taking on board lessons will be Napoli (away).
The big question is.... how many more capitulations / humiliations can the fans and board take? There will be the straw that breaks the camels back. I see nothing from our performances to suggest otherwise.

Considering his playing career that's something I find hard to believe.
He captained Holland in a WC final and they only lost when he went off (replaced by Edson Braafheid lost his man for the goal if you can remember him).
I think something else is afoot.
I think this is fair. And had the loss had been to Hibs and the draw with them then the outlook on Gio would be far different within the fanbase.
It's the spineless manner in which we lose that most have a gripe with. Gio continually perseveres with tactics and players that just aren't working. He's fortunate the quality of our league is so poor.

I'm not his biggest fan and still maintain he should've been sacked after Ajax but domestically, points wise, he's doing a relatively good job. 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss is a good start.
Gio capitulated the champions league before a ball was kicked. There's a weakness in his personality that we can all see and I see it reflected in the teams performances. I think the job is too big for him.

We were easily dragged down to the oppositions level again and made hard work of the three points. Points in the bag though and if we can make it to the transfer window without losing ground on the mhanks irrespective of the performances then I'll be happy.

That'll do! Get it right up the time wasting chancers!

Davies will apparently be in the side tomorrow...

Humiliation has become common place under gio. Baffling team selections and the constant backing of under achievers and tactics that don't work are common place . We're a laughing stock now. It's heart breaking watching us now. A team without a spine.

2008 or 2022...or both?
2008. I was every bit as disappointed last time round but we did score. When gio brought on Sands and Davis, two players who had hardly kicked a ball my heart sank. The icing on the cake was Ramsey. Outstanding stupidity from our manager.

Our biggest problem is our manager is a coward. Concentrates more on not losing rather than winning. with his constant selection of under achievers and his failing football philosophy were in a very sticky situation. Last time I felt this way was under Paul Leguen. I was at the St Johnstone game that finished him. St Mirren are on a roll and will be a tough test for our spineless manager. I expect a disjointed midfield void of any imagination and guile and a bland tactical plan. I just wonder if this game will be the straw that breaks Gios back. And I'm very sad to say there's a part of me that hopes this will be the case. It breaks my heart to watch the spineless dirge were getting served up off Vanbronchurst . I just want him to go . He's dragging us back into the abyss.

Relatively, so are we.
Too many of this team peaked a year or two ago.
I will repeat it.....
When a poor version of us meets our toughest group ever... relative carnage was always likely.
We need to rebuild with a new manager. This season will be generally 'difficult'.
I've been saying the same since we won the league. Unfortunately we're offering them new contracts.
