In all honesty, I'd be delighted if we had 6 games against the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Inter then focused on the domestic trophies this year if we didn't qualify.

I Want to at least finish 3rd If we go through to the group stages.  Never in a million years did I think we'd return to the European scene in the manner that we have in such a short space of time.  And I like being there.  Are we champions league quality? Not yet,  but we may have to take a few hits to get there.  Its not beyond us to finish third should we make it through to the group stages,  in fact I think this is a realistic target to set our selves.   Don't think Another Europa league final is beyond us either.

  2.  We have to go into both legs with the attitude we showed against Dormund.  Don't know why anyone is fearing psv,  we have beaten better.  If we play to our potential well go through.   I wouldn't start Kent or morelos.  Neither will be fully fit and we have players to cover them.   We've got lots of new talent with plenty of flair.  Time for the new boys to take the baton and bury the ghost of Gerrard team.   That's where our future lies.

  3. I'd love to see morelos and colak on the same pitch tonight but I dont see it happening.  It's all about us tonight.  We have to put in a shift like we did against Dortmund,  taking the game to the opposition and showing no fear.   If continue with the slow build up and the meaningless passes at the back we will struggle.

    My starting line up

                 McGregor

    Tav Goldson Sands Barasic

         Tillman Lundstrom

    Matundo kent Lawrence

                   Colak

  4. It's the same problem with kent.  Hes shackled to the left wing.  But our slow build up is our biggest enemy.  Our forwards are easily marked out the game due to our own game play.  The constant dithering in our own half has me tearing my hair out.  Goldson is the biggest offender.   He struggles to see a pass never mind make one.

  5. I knew wed struggle when I seen the team selection but I'm aghast at what I'm reading.  Gio made a right arse of this tonight.   Too many Jekyll and Hyde performances over the piece from him

The jury is out as far as I'm concerned.

I can’t say I was majorly impressed with any of our new signings, it took the old guard to dig us out of this one. Exception was perhaps Colak who was hard done by with the offside. Still though, it’s a shite pitch that we’ve always struggled with so I’ll forget about it and look forward to the next game.

It's a tough first game for any new start and I expected much of the team selection  that gio picked.   A team of new starts would have struggled today.  I had no qualms about  the team selection. Poor Soutar got chucked about  like a scud book today but I have to say noumbe will do that to a few more defenders this season.   I thought he would have been the ideal choice for this type of game but he had a shocker.  He wont want to watch this game again though.  robably put himself down the pecking order as well.  Lawrence did ok as did Tillman ok but not many people will shine as much as you would like on that pitch, especially on their first game.  Colak is a player ,  but he needs better support .  4 touches in the first half is testament  to the service he receives,  On the topic of the pitch there were a few times today when the ball took an awkward bounce, that is it didnt bounce true.     6 weeks down the line I expect a few of the new starts to be in the starting line up with Barasic  and Kamara likely to take a back seat. And  I think this may be the beginning of the end for Ryan jack.  We dont have time for passengers I'm afraid and reckon hes in the last chance saloon.

I think you saw the value that Morelos adds by dropping deep to get involved when you contrast Colak staying up top and waiting for service.

Colak needs more support and I think the two could compliment each other, forming a fairly formidable pairing.

3-5-2, definitley an option to consider for games like today.

That's how we won the league.  Playing

Morelos behind the striker.  We miss his hold up play never mind his goals.

Aye, me too, I think he'll grow into the team.

Unlike a fair few on here, I reckon big Souttar will be a great signing too.

He had a shaky start to the game against spurs but grew as the game went on.  Dont think hell see much euro action but hes the type you need for the dogged spfl.

First the BBC come grovelling. Now the Hibbies extol our virtues. Where will it end?

I remember someone saying many years ago that the a lie will go round the world before the truth gets its boots on.  Maybe that time has come.  The haters have finally stopped kicking.  The scottish media bubble that danced over us has finally burst.  It's not popular to hate Rangers anymore.  Not when the the world media are doing the opposite.   I will say the demise of the puppet master Liewell seems to be the turning point.  A pack of cards indeed.

    That's correct.

Sands is starting to grow on me.  I like his composure on the ball.  I think he will be more of a cover man in the season to come but hes starting to tick all the boxes.
