I don't believe I've ever seen the levels of hysteria from our on-line support as I have in the last 48 hours.

    The manager should go.

    The board should go.

    The players aren't good enough

    etc etc etc.

Yes, Saturday's performance wasn't good enough, but I don't see the need to go overboard.

If we look at the 9 in a row seasons, only 4 had better league starts to the season than this one. Even the famous 92-93 season was worse at this stage. I hate to think what the internet would be like back then.

We've qualified for the Champions League group stages. A fantastic feat, which appears to have been forgotten.

We were in a European final a few months ago, the run to which have at least 5 games which would easily feature into my top 20 favourite Rangers games of all time. I don't believe any other season would have as many and wouldn't trade the memories of them that Gio helped give us.

We didn't spend in the transfer window and I'm as disappointed as most on that, but there's a few potential reasons for that, including FFP, the SDI settlement being a lot higher than we'd thought, and future cashflows. We are still inherently loss-making and while we may be profitable last season and this season, we still need to plan ahead and look at next season and the cashflows required.

There's even been allegations that the board are keeping the cash for themselves to repay their investments, but as he club will never pay dividends, that's patently untrue.

Things may not be perfect at the moment but they're far from the disaster that many are suggesting.

It will be a long time for me to get over this performance.  Its not hysteria either.  I'm sick of gio trying the same lame tactics time and time again that just don't work.   He doesn't learn by his mistakes.   We are no further forward under the current management team and I expect the current trend to continue.   Our tactics are lame and team selections at times are downright baffling.   We all seen what was coming on  Saturday when we seen the team sheet,  why the he'll can't the management team see it.  The team that won the league are well past their shelf life.  Even worse still were resigning them.  Goldson kamara and Davis given new contracts.  Three of them should be no where near ibrox.   Tav..the best of a bad lot.  Hardly a queue lining up to buy him.  Kent and morelos have chucked in the towel.

This isn't hysteria.   Our shortcomings are right in front of us for all to see.  I hope to god our fortunes change but I'm struggling to see where the manager turns it around given the tactics he employs.

Lawerence was a huge miss, we had more possession, more passes and yet we had zero cutting edge.

They have pushed the boat out since getting champions league money.

We play the vast majority of our football in our own half.

  3. It is beggars belief that after two transfer windows we finished the game with stevie gs team.  We should have had a clear out after we won the league.  That teams shelf life was up then.  It concerns me that not only are the majority still here we're giving them new contracts.   Who ever is making these decisions needs to be removed.

The solution to this mess obviously lies with the management and players but I think there's also a need for some realism among the support. Since witnessing a humiliating defeat, where our rivals gave us the proverbial runaround for 90 minutes, I repeatedly read about how Celtic are "shit", "ordinary", "nothing special" and that if we had only turned up today we would surely have beaten them. This, of course, is pure delusion. From what I've seen, Celtic are better than us in every department. They pass better, they're direct, they're faster, hungrier, more aggressive,. They're better organised, more coordinated and appear to be far better prepared and motivated.

Postecoglou isn't a fat useless Aussie, he's a serious manager who has a considerable track record of success and clearly understand what it takes to be the number one team in this parish. In a single season he's transformed a sinking ship, won the league, reached the CL group stages and created a team that is miles ahead of Rangers. So perhaps we need to give the Devil his due and admit the magnitude

Yes you can. If you have the right players who fit in to a coherent system. At this stage, I'm not sure what our system or playing identity is under Gio.

I don't think gio knows either

  5. Said it before and illsay it again.  We held on to too many players after we won the league.  I'm sick of kent and kamara.  Davis should be put out to grass.  As for giving goldson a 4 year contract.... I'd sack the clown who came up for that.

Hands up anyone who went into today`s game with any optimism?

32 games to go, their fire will run out, we finally (part 563) have to wake up and stop playing underperformers and straight into the oppositions hands. Next stop Ajax.

Who do you rank as the under performers?

Unfortunately if Gio can't get over this "shit the bed" negative football that we seem to get every few games then I think he'll go. Probably not until the end of the season though. Seems to be a pattern, shit the bed then play well for a couple of games, then shit the bed.

To many tactical disasters.   Gio doesn't have the players to implement the tactics he wants.   He buggers about with his squad too much.  Tillman is not an outside right.  Kamara and Davis in the midfield just doesn't work.   He needs to find his best team and stick with it.

Exactly, but some are saying losing today means we'll automatically be shit in Europe. All I was trying to say is over last 3 or 4 season (55 apart) being shit domestically didn't equate to being shit in Europe.

It looks like neither us or them are good enough to compete in both. They've decided domestic superiority is best for them, and we've chosen European success.

I'm certainly not saying that.  I took one look at that team today and knew what was coming.   They beat us with ease yet again.   We started with a team of players that didn't compliment each other.   Gio frustrates the life out of me with his team selections at times.

What, beating PSV over two legs doesn't show we can compete in Europe? We got to EL Final just over 100 days ago, whilst losing to teams domestically.

We lost the league mate.   We have to perform on both fronts.   We are no better domestically now than we were when gio took over.  This was deja veu today.  Gio implemented the same tactics the last time we got beat at the scum dome and and against union.    We went there not to lose today.  Once the first goal went in we were out of ideas.   Rangers are box of chocolates under gio.  You just don't know what your going to get next.

  10. Gio you are to blame.  You replaced lawewnce with a defensive midfielder.  You pick more or less the same team that got fucking horsed last time and played the same tactics.  What the fuck did you expect.  One more like that and you can fuck right off.  Your not learning from your mistakes mate.  Champions league or not.

Someone made a good point there on Twitter, not a single new signing on the pitch now.

Until we rid ourselves of the majority of stevie gs team this will be the norm.    Kent kamara Davis barasic canal fuck off.

  12. 6 minutes ago, CammyF said:

Really? I can't see them losing domestically. They are on a 35 (or there abouts) unbeaten run in SPFL.

We struggle to open up teams, they are relentless and find a way.

Breaks my heart but they are everything we are not at the moment. They remind me of what we were under SG winning 55 and we resemble them during that season.

I've said before there are players who should have left.   Kent kamara Davis bring nothing to the table.   We had a decent pre season signing players and the vast majority playing today are stevie gs players.  Gio can't keep on playing tactics that just don't work.   It's the sign of a fool.

Only two OF virgins, Sands and Colak. I reckon the big Croat won't be phased.

I wouldn't start Tillman, big risk it would pass him by. Better as an option off the bench.

If we are chasing game, Morelos could come on and play just behind Colak.

A fully firing Ryan Jack will be badly missed. The guy who is impersonating him is running in treacle. Shame, but he looks done.

Not optimistic tbh. I think we have more chance of a decent result in Amsterdam but tomorrow is far more important.

Give it your best shot lads, don't leave anything out there. I honestly don't care about Ajax if we can get win tomorrow.

Lawrence is a big loss.  I would have Jack next to lundstram and arfield or morelos in place of him.  Theres goals in the both of them.  Exactly what we need today.

Any cup game, the most important thing is to ensure you are in the hat for the next round draw.

I thought the lad Connelly scored an exquisite goal. Shagger did not even bother to follow the flight of the ball.

I like the look of Devine?

Me too.  Boy has a future.  Charlie Mccann  must knocking on the door .  He impresses with every game I see him in.
