I do indeed; I recall also that Regan neglected to apprise the foreign officials of the small matter that they were in Scotland to strike break. I seem to recollect, too, that the fhilth had a referee from Luxembourg, who was not, shall we say, helpful to them, and made one or two honest mistakes.

I was actually a little taken aback by his comments. I know the libtards wouldn't like me saying this, but genuine racism such as this is IMO rather rare these days, at least in the UK. You can feel the venom in one or two of those texts. You wonder what his problem is.

As for the SFA, it's almost too depressing to bother commenting any more. Incompetence is one thing, but I actually find them a distasteful organisation.

I'm not entirely sure how these changes are going to improve what has become a tired old tournament, of interest to a dwindling number of football fans.

Call me old fashioned but it's the Champions League so should be champions-only (they might as well call it the Money Shield these days), with four groups of four and then quarter-finals. But given that that won't satisfy the TV Corporations, who are naturally more important than your average fan, I'm well aware those days are gone forever.

My scepticism towards UEFA goes back to the 'second group stage', shoehorning in a load more games.

You can never be certain, but like the EU, I've a feeling (or should that be hope) that the days of the 'Champions League' might just be numbered.

I’m a bit long in the tooth as a football follower to talk of corners being turned, but something has happened over the last two games, our two best performances of the season. Suddenly both fans and players seem up for it. Whatever the final scoreline, Aberdeen – just starting to get ideas slightly above their station - were blown away by a much changed display of grit, determination, consistency and a wee bit of skill too. Hearts were comprehensively schooled. So while I doff my bunnet to the likes of Wes and Kiernan – both of whom have shown how much I actually know about football (nae much) – only consistency over the next five months will take us to a 2nd place finish. So here’s hoping this is the start of even slightly better times, time will tell, but at the very least it was an encouraging comeback from a frankly worrying non-performance at Tynecastle a fortnight ago. Seeing as it’s Christmas, I’d just be asking for a bit more precision in our finishing.

Hamilton Accies then. Maybe it’s just me, but Accies have long struck me as the only top flight side with a support willing to talk about the football, rather than indulge their sense of inadequacy with snarling hatred. I also think the strange high wall underneath the stands is pretty cool for some reason. And who can forget the absolute LOLathon when they put Hibs down on penalties (and we kept them down). So yeah, not my least favourite team. And of course, the first step on the long and glorious road to Nine In A Row. Though it was annoying to discover just a few months back that the iconic first goal of 9IAR was scored by Gary Stevens, as I thought back with horror at the 25 years of boasting of my Rangers knowledge with proud tales of Kevin Drinkell’s famous goal which started it all.

As well as the Accies did to keep things respectable at the Emptihad on Tuesday, I’d be looking for three wins out of three to lead us into the final game of the season against Celtic. After which will then be the time to start making reasonable judgement of Warburton’s stewardship during our return to the top league.

Prediction: Hamilton 0-2 Rangers

When the Torbet scandal broke at Celtic criminal prosecutions took place but the SFA took no action towards the club that I'm aware of. No football punishments were administered.

 

That is now coming back to haunt the SFA with a vengeance. By not dealing with Celtic how can they hand now out punishments to any other clubs ?

 

All of these past allegations now emerging within Scottish football must be the SFA's worst nightmare because of their inaction towards Celtic previously. The SG will surely want retrospective action taken against clubs who tried to cover this up won't they ?

A decade past, a couple of cleaners at Sellik Park opened a cupboard in ra Sellik View office and discovered over 300 pornographic photographs of children involved in Celtic Boys Club. Some of the shower scenes were in black and white, other more recent posed images were in colour. The pictures spenned over 20 years. Long term Sellik View photographer, John Cullen took said photos. He was arrested, tried, convicted, and received a nominal sentence. I think six months suspended?

 

The important thing is continuity and mutual support. Cullen was there as part of the Torbet/Cairney ring. Again, just hugely depressing. Firstly the crime, but also the cover up. Who do Celtic think they are? The wellbeing of children is a bit more important than a, let's face it, run of the mill sports team.

Aberdeen are a massive club with a huge fanbase. Officially Scotland's second force, they are a 'sleeping giant' of the Scottish game.

They may have won less trophies than Rangers, but this is purely down to our sectarianism.
