My expectations are the same every season. League Champions and European football after Christmas. A cup win or 2 would be nice but with the size of squad that we have the Championship and Europe should always take priority.

Would love to see the two of them signed up longer term. Even a two year extension for Bougherra is better than nothing. A Cuellar-Bougherra central defensive partnership would be excellent

Think it was one of the better draws we could have hoped for. To be honest we shouldn't be fearing anyone in the champions section qualifying rounds and hopefully with this early start to the season we will be better prepared than in previous years.

We could still go back in for him.

An excellent statement by the various fan groups. Personally I don't think that the Billy Boys or the word fenian is sectarian but if they are harming the club then all supporters have to stop. The statement is crystal clear. People have been arguing that they don't know what they can and can't sing - its now there in black and white.
I hope every fan has the attitude of being a Rangers fan first and a Protestant/Loyalist second. If we don't give our enemies any ammunition then we can highlight the gross injustices that we as a club and the support face both in Scotland and abroad.

Ask me again on the 30th July after the St Johnstone game. Will worry if we get off to a poor start in the league and struggle in the qualifier.

The one team we don't want in the 3rd qualifying round is Genk.

I'm sure Webster was done the day PLG got the sack. Could be wrong though

Whoever set off the firecrackers should know better. However, going by the accounts of people at the game the 1 song that we have been asked to stop (TBB) was not sung. Another dig at Rangers fans for no reason it seems. Double standards of the tabloid press shown again in particular The Sun.

Good to hear. With the limited TV money available to us in Scotland we have to try and maximise every possible revenue stream that we can.

Certainly don't want to lose Wylde at the end of the season. He should certainly be on the same money as Jamie Ness. Both of them could be mainstays in the team for years to come.

Yeah, I think it's a shame his Rangers career effectively ended because of it but I suppose people are entitled to their own beliefs.
I think I could understand Moore's position if it had been the Olympics of 2000 in Sydney as it was obviously in Australia but not Athens and especially not when we were about to play in important Champions League qualifiers. Good player for us though. Played in a number of positions during Walter's first spell but as a centre half during Advocaat's time he was immense.

Love the quote from Ian Ferguson. He was probably the brains behind the operation.

If someone had told me after he left Rangers that in less than two years Charlie Adam would have signed for Liverpool I would have thought you were off your head. i remember a game at Ibrox when he couldn't get a corner by the first man three times in succession. That being said he looks a lot slimmer and hasn't been the target of the boo boys, which seems to pick out a player evey season. Good luck Charlie!

So would Lionel Messi but we can't afford him either.

A great start from Mr Whyte. We have to play a role in combating sectarianism but we also have to look at other clubs and highlight their double standards on the sectarian/political/offensive songs. It can't be one rule for one club and another for the next.
When you hear the IRA Lovefest at every away ground Celtic visit plus the disgraceful songs regarding the Ibrox Disaster from the Sheep it's no wonder we feel agrieved.

Hopefully a few more in before the start of the season. Welcome to the club Juanma. Anyone have any idea what the fee was?

Davie Robertson for me. Best left back I've seen at Ibrox. His understanding with Laudrup was almost telepathic.

I think that is a wee bit harsh on Papac, whilst I agree he gets caught out now and again he isn't alone in that aspect, overall he is steady,it could be argued that if he was better than than he is we might have lost him in one of the transfer windows.
Not 1 of the worst mate but I still think LB is a position that we could improve. No doubt that Sasa has been a great servant to the club though. He could do with some competiton for his place, which might improve him even more.

Davis was very poor at times last season but there's no doubt when he plays well, the team plays well. I really hope we can tie him down.
Agree with that Frankie. He started coming onto a bit of form after the CIS Cup Final and that's when we really turned the screw on the Mhanky Mob. I thought his performance in the cup final was as good as I've seen from a Rangers midfielder in a cup final for a long, long time.

Consistantly average merits a place ahead of better players?
I agree with you Gribz. A good squad player but I would be looking for a better LB than Papac. He doesn't shut the ball down in the wide area quick enough and gets caught out of position quite a bit.

After Steve Davis a priority would be to Gregg Wylde tied up on a longer term contract. Don't want another Danny Wilson type scenario

The apparent signing of up of the likes of McGregor, Davis and Whittaker can only be a good thing but we still need four of five players to come in. IMO though I would rather we tried to bring in 3 or 4 top players who are good enough to go straight into the team rather than buying 5 or 6 players who are there simply to make up the numbers.

Well it would seem we are sorted for striking options depending if Beattie goes. To be honest we should have enough cover up there with Lafferty, Jelavic, Naismith, Fleck and Healy. I would also throw in Kane Hemmings and Kal Naismith who I would expect to feature this season as well.

Are you happy Sir David of Weir has signed a 1 year contract extension?

Can't think of anyone better to back up the first choice centre backs than Davie Weir. He will stroll the SPL as usual. Europe is a different matter though.
