It's all about the demand. They could bump the price up even more and it will still pack the stadium out. Good to see the reductions in prices at other games though.

Really hope he can stay clear of any long term injuries. Ness has the potential to be a top, top player for both club and country. I expect him to be partnering Steve Davis in the middle of the park for most of the season.

I always get my carry-out the day before anyway so won't make any difference to me.

Well I'll admit it would have been nice to have a couple of new faces in but with pre-season starting now I think you will see a bit more activity in the transfer market. There's always a bit more urgency with the start of the season fast approaching. If we don't have anyone in by the first game of the season then I would be concerned but I'm not worried at the moment.
One thing I would like to see stop is Ally and Mr Whyte coming out with any more stuff in the papers. Mr Whyte is laid out his intentions so the time for talking has stopped and we now have to see some action.

There can be no doubt that the Rangers fans have been greatly affected by the government severe austerity measures. To their credit,in spite of hardship, the fans have shown fantastic support to the club and team during the season just gone and ticket sales are up on last year in anticipation of the new management regime / team restructure. What a pity two individuals, motivated by utter greed have thrown our loyalty back in our faces. Martin Bain is currently on suspension partly due to awarding himself a pay rise of 35% or well in excess of Ã?£130k. This is a disgusting scenario, particularly in view of the past restraints on player spending. We hoped for better times under Craig Whyte and he has made a fantastic contract offer to Whitty. The idiot turns the club down. This was bad enough but then he and his agent start to criticise Rangers for not recognising his true worth. IMO we are better off without people like this. NO BRAIN - NO DECENCY – NO LOYALTY – NO GREAT LOSS.
Can't disagree with anything you said mate. Even though we are financially better off due to the takeover I see no reason why we should return to the days of spending a fortune on players. We should have a wage cap of 20k a week and take it from there. We have been dragged to the brink over the last few seasons and thanks to Walter Smith we managed to get 3IAR but I hope the days of financial mis-management are well and truely over.

That's certainly been the benefit of the last couple of years - they have been forced (at times) to let some of the youngsters into the 1st team. I hope that the contribution that some have made isn't forgotten, just because there is some money to be spent!!!
Yeah definitely mate. Wylde, Ness and Hutton really supplemented the squad last year. Sure they will mistakes and go off form but for the long term future of the club it's important to try and blood some of these youngsters. I think Cole can play either RB or CB which might be an advantage for him

Gutted it will be the end of the Stevie Whittaker chants that were sweeping through grounds up and down the country at the end of last season

would folk prefer is we were just buying up any old players???
With holidays etc, transfer talks have been difficult. Also, how accurate are the media reports??? Are there as many SERIOUS approached as has been mentioned in the papers??? So far, the only player that has been really "lost" is Hemed, and that was due to money/wages. Surely that's not the type of player that should be brought in anyway - one driven solely by a wage packet!!!!
I have faith in Ally & his team that they are working their little socks off to get the RIGHT players for the team. They gambled with spending £4m on Jelavic last year - putting all their eggs in one basket, in order to get quality - it has proved to be the right move. It was also a deal which took time!!!
Can't disagree with anything you posted there Darther. I have been encouraged by the players we have been going for with the exception of Lee Wallace. Four signings of real quality is a helluva lot better than 6 or 7 squad players who are not better than the players we have got. A lot will depend though on who we shift out (Bougherra, Beattie and perhaps Whittaker after todays revelations). Defence is still the major priority.
I will also be interested to see if McCoist promotes another couple of youngsters to fill in any gaps. I know they have high hopes for Darren Cole but can also see Kane Hemmings and Kal Naismith featuring this season as well.

Wouldn' say it's a worry but I'm slightly irritated by the fact we haven't signed anyone. Not worrying too much though

Loved John Lamont's comments regarding the Scottish school system. The phrase 'nail hit on the head' springs to mind

The holy grail for Whyte and Russell is for Rangers to turn a profit without needing Champions League money to do so. How they do that I don't know but there are avenues that we have to explore across the globe.
A good starting point would be North America and Australia where we already have huge fanbases. We have to tap into those markets before we progress to Asia IMO.
Re-developing the area around Ibrox is all well and good but it would have to income that would continue to come in and not just a one off payment.
As much as I hate to admit it Celtic are far better in a commercial sense than we are at the moment. We have went backwards in the last 10 years off the park by quite a bit.
In the dying days of the Murray reign there was no bright ideas to generate revenue, no spark just a hope against hope that we would make the Champions League. IMO that outlook has to change.
Over to you Mr Whyte and Mr Russell!!

He's a decent player but not one I would lose sleep over if he left. I agree with what Tumshie said, he's either good or bad. Any team he left us for would be a step down IMO as he's not going to sign for a top club anywhere else.
It wasn't that long ago big Broadfoot was keeping him out of the team. He seems to make a poor start to the season then really come onto a game towards the end

Whittaker's the ultimate confidence player. He's either brilliant or absolutely woeful but he would be a loss IMO. However, if he doesn't want to sign a new contract punt him and bring someone else in.
That being said I still think he will sign a new contract. He definitely won't be going to Turkey

Would love to see big Cuellar back at Ibrox as for Lee Wallace - I'm not sure anytime I've seen him he hasn't really impressed me. We need another left back to give Papac some competition but I don't think Wallace is the answer. If we are going down the Scottish route I would rather see us go for Paul Dixon at Dundee Utd.

Is this the last year of his contract with United ?
Iy's a lot of cash if he is imo.
I think he signed an extension in January. I think his is contracted to the summer of 2013 or 2014

We need players in but there is no point rushing into things and panic buying. I have been encouraged with who we have been linked with and with the heirarchy at the club now sorted it means we can move forward on the transfer front.
If we haven't signed anyone before the start of the season then that's the time to start worrying but not at the moment. i would expect to see at least three new faces in the squad for the Hearts game

1. Title number 54
2. League Cup Final victory
3. European football after Christmas - a must for a club of our size and ambition
4. The takeover saga coming to an end
5. The emergence of Wylde, Ness and Hutton. We should always be looking at bringing through our own players

In the SPL I expect him to go 4-4-2 as usual. In Europe I think he will go 4-5-1. I don't see him being as cautious as Walter though

I've like everything that I've heard from Craig Whyte so far but action speaks louder than words. However, I think he has made a good start

Couldn't get a much tougher start but will be good to get it out of the way.

I'd go for Steve Davis but it will probably be McCulloch

Much better at RB than central defence. Will play at some stage next season when Whittaker has his usual dip in form

Seems to be dragging on. Would love to see Vaughan at Ibrox but can't see it unfortunately

McGregor was definitely the most consistent and I can't for the life of me believe he wasn't even considered for the Rangers Player of the Year never mind the Scottish Player of the Year awards.

Weir signs one year deal?

Wouldn't be the worst signing but only as back-up. We still need two centre backs in plus cover at LB and possibly at RB if Whittaker goes
