Davies and Dowell will return to us for the time being ...
Birmingham City can confirm the list of retained and released players following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Grant Hanley and Lee Myung-Jae – who both joined the Club in January - have been released following the expiration of their contracts, while Luke Harris, Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies have returned to their parent clubs following respective loan spells.

The TM end of contract page has some fine names ... maybe Ronaldo as player-coach?

De Bruyne and Partey would be a beginning.
Never heard of about 80% of that list
I actually know Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young from my Fantasy Football League days ... 36 and 39 respectively.

May I ask why the SFA gets involved into a comment made on a private TV channel for Rangers supporters? That is, nothing that the whole wide (Hooped) world would hear or listen too and thus can get upset about? Unless Finbar O'Fended, for reasons only known to him, signs up to?

Better numbers than the older and more expensive McCowan who They snapped up.
Lyall Cameron is a common sense move.
No doubt about that. IMHO, we had two good creative people in Cantwell and Hagi, able to split and/or unlock defences, as well as providing goals. Lawrence and Raskin can do that too, but (IMHO) lack the creative spark against tight defences. As soon as teams open up or actually want to play football, they are fine too.
So, I just noted that Cameron will come up against a different setup while playing for us.
Regarding Shankland, and right-winger Boyle (for a reasonable fee, one year left on his contract - 44 games, 20 goals, 11 assists), I'd take them both too. Our front line is far too thin, and we do need some powerhouses as well. Vardy ... IMHO, we SHOULD have kept Defoe, despite his age. He looked class and scored brilliant goals. I have not seen much of Vardy for the last 5 years, so can't really comment.

Lyall Cameron scores again for Dundee today. Could be a useful signing next season for us
He has 14 goals and 9 assists in 41 games for Dundee. Most teams will have played a rather open game against them, which will not happen at Ibrox.

In the 11 SPFL premiership games BF was in charge Rangers conceded 19 goals. It is imperative we recruit at least two CB’s during the summer who are an upgrade on what we’ve currently got.
We conceded 15 more than them, and scored 32 less than them. What cost us were our lack of firepower in all those sad draws, whereas they outgunned the opposition. And I bet the chances created / shots at goal are actually not that far behind.

No source?
Well, FF had none, but ...
Glasgow Times if need be.
IMHO, we can do this, but our better youngsters should go to 2nd or 3rd tier foreign teams to hone their skills. The quality of the nether regions of Scottish football will turn them into hardened Kilmarnock material ...

Both were fit and raring to go. A fit Barron enables Diomande and Raskin to play more freely and further forward. Still, having three "full-time" central midfielders is more often than not one too many, as we lack firepower up front.

Stage fright ... again. Lost 1-0 to the team they dismantled 5-0 in last month's cup final. Instead of claiming the title, it's third spot in the league. Like the males, they manage to lose their way in half a handful of games late in the season to the wrong sides and that's that ...

Title decider at Ibrox, as our women entertain leaders Hibs. A win will hand us the title.
HT 0-0 - Livetext on X or BBC
Going by the comments, the ref is as inept as yesterday, as he should have sent off a Hibs player on a yellow for two nasty fouls after that ...

Rangers are exploring a cooperation agreement with Raith Rovers.
The Ibrox side are looking at a number of lower league clubs to go into partnership with from next season.
A deal with the Fife club is now on the cards.
The move is part of the radical, new plans brought in by the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Professional Football League to allow more opportunities for the country’s young players to get top level exposure.
Any club can go into a cooperation agreement with one team from each other division.
It would allow them to put out a number of loan players per season but they can go back and forth between the clubs as many times as they like, in and outside of the transfer windows.
Rangers have already dismantled the majority of their B team and are looking at a number of cooperation plans for next season.
They believe a tie up with Raith Rovers would be beneficial for both sides.
Rangers would get their young players exposure at a good level and Rovers boss Barry Robson would bolster his promotion-chasing squad at a vastly reduced cost.
The Ibrox side could also select a team in League One and League Two.
The SFA have also increased the academy age to Under-19 from the next campaign.

It's about the 49ers selling 6% (of their NFL team) for 8.6bn btw.
Indeed. I just hoped people would do the maths on their own, i.e. 10 % being 860m etc.

I saw the ball hitting the inside of the goal and the big trunk of a Hibs defender pushing it out again with his legs and himself inside the goal from over here. I'd call that conclusive!
(BTW, if you say "inconclusive" again, I'll temporarily remove the transfer thread, so chose your words wisely ... )

Like I said above, the ball hit the inside of the side net, as can be seen in this slow-mo of the same camera / angle the VAR team had.

If someone hands us 20m for Raskin, I doubt he will stay on. Important player that he is, watching today's show of inept refereeing and, essentially us dropping points to simple football tactics, he'll sure be off in a flash ... and rightly so.

Sidenote ... we'll have to buy Cortes in the summer. He should have had much more game time since he's back. Cerny is blowing hot and cold for weeks, like the winger he is. Dunno whether we have an obligation to play him. And in saying that, I know he's our second most valuable player in goals and assists ...

RTV stream is brutal today ... over here at least. It's more like a creek.

There was "no conclusive angle/evidence" to show him
Didn't the ball hit the side net inside the goal? ... In any case, there was very little time spent on either side of the field.

NB: IF it was inconclusive, why did Walsh not go to the monitor?

JB was bang on. How's VAR not getting involved?
Apparently, the VAR team told the BBC that "it was not conclusive that the ball was over the line."
Referee - Nick Walsh
Assistants - Daniel McFarlane and Calum Spence
Video Assistant Referee - Andrew Dallas
Assistant Video Assistant Referee - Graeme Leslie
Barry is going out ... he can do so all guns blazing.

Worse ... they got forward from it, and scored. Even though the guy crossing the ball was looking offside to me too. Neither VARed. Shocking shocking stuff.

That aside, Cerny with two great chances, Tav with two shots too ... we need to take our chances!

... and that will be the talking point after the game in the MSM, rest assured.

OP updated, not much on the player front. Manager-wise ... Martin looks Leicester-bound
Relegated Leicester City are in advanced talks to appoint former Southampton head coach and ex-Rangers and Scotland defender Russell Martin as their new manager after deciding to sack Ruud van Nistelrooy. (Football Insider)
Steven Gerrard is set to hold talks with Rangers over the next 48 hours with a view to returning to Ibrox as the club's next manager and the 44-year-old Englishman will not face any tax complications, previously thought to be a possible stumbling block, following his exit from Saudi Arabia in January. (Daily Mail)
Steven Gerrard has asked Rangers for more time to talk over his return to Glasgow as manager with his wife, Alex, who had hoped they could move from Bahrain to Dubai, but is thought likely to bring former Ibrox midfielder Steven Davis and ex-Anfield team-mate Jordan Henderson with him should he take the job. (Daily Record)
Betting has been suspended on Steven Gerrard being named the new Rangers manager, with former Liverpool team-mate Djibril Cisse saying the Englishman is unable to attend his anniversary match next week "for professional reasons". (Glasgow Times)
