Don't agree at all, if Morelos played do you think the chances of winning the game would have improved or stayed the same?  For me if Morelos played we would be far, far more potent up front today.

I agree Morelos was missed but virtually the whole team was shocking today, couldn't string 2 passes together, it was like we've never played together before.

Hearts are a terrible team, can't believe we've lost that today.

  2. Thought we played great, totally ripped them apart, only their keeper kept them in it.

I don't blame Tav for not taking the penalty he can't win whatever he does with some fans, Morelos was trying too hard but also created so many chances out of nothing, we expect more as we know what he can do. They won by an offside goal and they were poor along with us not taking our chances including the pen is absolutely gutting this is worst I've felt in a long time but still feel very proud of our performance and the league is there for the taking IMO.

We need another top class striker in January IMO.

We can't rely on Scottish referees to help us out.  Poor defending gave the points away.

    Goldson had a bad game.

Of course we can't totally rely on refs but Beaton not giving a stone wall penalty and not giving their players more bookings, potentially for sending offs does impact the game and final result.

We made bad mistakes no getting away from that and played very poor second half but refs can have a say on the result from what they do, and he did last night!

Not sure why Gerrard should play for Rangers as he has never been a Rangers Legend or even player.

Don't think he can win here, some fans were moaning earlier that he wasn't playing a half each for both teams .

Sure it'll just be a few mins at the end of the game when he puts on the Rangers jersey, he is our manager and would be good to see IMO.

  5. It was a poor game, poor refereeing also. we made plenty of mistakes, 2 which cost goals. I don't get how we were outclassed and they were in second gear, they were not that far ahead of us. It's still early in the season so hopefully we will recover and the new players learn quickly, but you see the same negative over the top reaction to every bad game we play. We are still way behind them in finance but not far behind them on the pitch, if we score first we don't lost that game. Most of the players were off form it happens, hopefully not to often!

  6. I think it's been mentioned on here by some that even Rangers disabled facilities are quite poor, I just seen a view from that shed where they were put at Kilmarnock and it's woeful, no fan should be treated like that, never mind disabled fans.

I personally don't think these fans should be banned for life, some games yes and warned for future behavior but not a lifetime ban.

I'm not defending them it was their fault and should be punished and thankfully no one was badly injured but they didn't mean it come on, lots of fans didn't get in until half time, hassled by stewards and police outside as their ticket system failed,  emotions were running high, first league game of the season, maybe put some alcohol into the mix with a last minute goal minutes after you think 3 points are gone, these things happen, fans do daft things in the heat of the moment, I'm sure they regret it now!

  7. From a very young age Jake was always busy playing/training with football (all over Lanarkshire and the Lothians) and boxing but I'm sure his dad probably took him to some games when he was young, although his dad didn't go to many games himself, maybe the odd CL game.

He was never out playing in a selik top that I can remember, mostly Scotland tops and Motherwell after he signed for them (about 7 or 8), as Pete said above they tried to sign him twice but didn't go about it the official way so were turned down.

  8. He's been at boxing training with his dad since he was a very young boy, both them love boxing and have/had a bulldog named Floyd (after Mayweather) :)

Think it was his mum who didn't want him to go down the boxing route for a career but hid dad always said he easily could've.

The express says “Rangers kept Motherwell out the loop as they made behind-the-scenes moves for Hastie.” Did Rangers do anything out of the ordinary? Sounds time like they are casting us in a bad light for signing a player on a bosman the same way everyone does.

@johnnyk it sounded to me like we did it the right way

Rangers did everything by the book and contacted Motherwell first and I was told at no time did Rangers pull out of the deal, it was all paper talk and obviously Jake's agent was talking to other clubs as well.

I was told by Jake's dad the only club that kept Motherwell out the loop was Celtic and they also did this when they tried to sign him when he was 16 and that was a big reason he didn't go to them.

Motherwell are not, never have been, and never will be a competitor of ours. Their competition is with Accies etc in the bottom 6. They simply make themselves look silly and petty if they bear grudges against the boy for trying to take his career to the next level.

As for the Hastie he appears to have a close knit family to support him at this crucial point. He's going to be on a lot more money than he was at Motherwell and with a far higher profile. That can go to the heads of some boys leading them astray.

He appears to have a family who will impress on him that this is still one of the first steps on your journey not the end of it. You need to work really hard if you're ever going to become a regular starter in a team of this stature.

I think I said a while ago that when Robinson came to Motherwell he told Jake to go on loan right away as he didn't think he was good enough. He told him to get fitter and lose weight, which I'm sure was a motivator for him but they didn't really keep tabs on him while he was out on loan.

His dad said there was no contact from Motherwell before he came back from Alloa in January and the only time they got in touch was after he went on his good run scoring goals and when other teams were interested. He said if Jake was offered a decent contract when on loan or even when he first came back he probably would've signed but said Motherwell hedged their bets and it's backfired on them, and now they're not happy!

He is a very grounded young guy with a great family who deserve all they get, I hope it works out for him but even his dad said it's now that we'll find out if he's good enough to play at this level but I know he will work as hard as he can and give it his best shot.

johnnyk from Gersnet (I think it is johnny anyway) previously stated that he is/was neighbors with Hastie and his parents and said that the family are diehard Tims but not the type who are the lunatic fringe but more stable (didn’t know there were any of those...).

He also said, I think, that Celtic tried to get Hastie on the cheap and thought the family would jump at the chance just because they’re Celtic fans.  The family decided on Motherwell as he had a better chance of breaking through.

Craig is right, Jake's dad and his family are Tims but he only used to go to certain games, like big name CL games and cup finals and sometimes took his son.

I rarely seen Jake with a hoops top on when he was young and was always playing or training from a very young age, they pushed him hard but it paid off.

His mum's side are Rangers fans but she wasn't really interested in football apart from Jake playing and her family never visited much, don't think they were close.

His dad told me both Rangers and Celtic tried to sign him but like Craig said Celtic didn't go through the official route but thought they would get him cheap. Rangers done things the right official way but they turned both down as he wanted to stay more local and have more of a chance breaking into the first team.

His dad always said he would have no problem with his son playing for Rangers if the money was right.

A really nice family,. I've not bumped into them for a while but if Jake signs I will be going to see him and wind him up a bit ?

He looks a good prospect but still has a long way to go, I just hope he gets game time if he signs!

He is a player Rangers have been interested in for some time, there was talk of attempting to sign him as a kid on more than one occasion. I'm not sure if it was followed up and declined or put on the back burner.

I remember his dad saying both Rangers and Celtic tried to sign him years ago. Rangers went through the proper channels but he said Celtic didn't and they assumed as he was a Celtic fan they would jump at the chance. Both offers were declined but mainly as they wanted to be closer to where they stay and Jake had more chance of first team football.

His mother and her family are supposedly huge Rangers fans so it seems to be a pretty mixed family if true.

She's not really into football but you are right her side were Rangers fans. I jokingly tried to get Jake into Rangers when I seen him, and always tried to wind up his dad.

His dad is/was into boxing and trained locally and took Jake all the time, I think it was his mum, that didn't like him fighting but he was very good at boxing as well.

He's done well since he used to wash my car when he was young ?

  14. I used to stay next door to him a few years ago, he's a great young lad and also has very nice parents who did all they can to make him a success.

He's got a great left foot on him and has bulked up a lot as I've followed his career since he turned pro.

His dad is Celtic daft but to give him his due he always said to me he would have no issue signing for Rangers as long as it's the best deal.

I can't see him cheering his boy on if he scored against them though!!

Certainly hope it's true as he looks a great prospect and deserves this.
