  1. Postecogliou just signed for a J League team. Hard luck.

Pulis would be short-termist though I can see the temptation. Suspect the board are also torn between trying to build something sustainable and the need for instant results and that’s led to indecision (pure speculation, of course).

I just seen that, it wasn't a big bet and like I said after reading more about him I wasn't too keen. The one thing that stood out was he seemingly doesn't like pressure!!

The standard of Scottish football is terrible and just now we are so easily bullied by all the physical teams here so we need some leaders and tougher players which I think the likes of Pulis get and would have worked with in the past.

  2. I recently put a bet on Ange Postecoglou at big odds to be our next manager but like any manager at any club it's a gamble, you don't really know if it will work out, only time will tell.

I followed a few teams in the world cup qualifiers, Australia being one of them and they just qualified through the play offs. They don't have any superstars but he played a system with what he had available to him. After reading a few more articles on him I don't think he would be right for us but who is the right man for us?

We are being linked to Tony Pulis and I would be very happy with him, another gamble of course and his style is perhaps not the greatest to watch but he gets results and think he would do well up here. No top class manager would do any better as there is not much funds available, he would play to our strengths and that is what we are doing wrong. We have tried the possession and passing style but without the right players its not going to work.

I would certainly take a gamble on Pulis at this time and no one else sticks out for me at this time.

  3. There appears to be three rumours doing the rounds in the immediate wake of the Acas first league win at Ibrox in 91 years.

    1. Monies to be scraped together to pay the necessary compensation, securing McInnes.

    2. Big Eck to be appointed mid week.

    3. Appeals from those close to the decision makers, to get down on bended knee and beg Walter to return for eighteen months. The large amount of dead wood at the club and out on loan has to be dealt with, and Wattie with pruners is the very man. Oh, and there's a Rights Issue to be promoted, better doing so under Walter inspired stability.

    Don't shoot the messenger.

You think things can't get any worse then you see these rumours, surely we can come up with better than this. I'd rather have Pedro back in charge than all of the above!!

  4. I like Murty and he could be useful in some capacity for the first team now but I think we need someone with more experience to take charge.

I would not be that happy having Murty in charge for the rest of the season.

  5. I like Pedro's passion and have always backed him even though he has had some bad results to say the least, I thought we were getting somewhere and we would be further forward by now.

The players don't seem to be playing for him and if they are then it's not good enough.

Something IMO is wrong behind the scenes and with the squad harmony, we're not a united squad and if the manager is falling out with some our most influential players then I really can't see him lasting much longer.

I am not sure who is best manager to replace him and we probably wouldn't be able to get a really big name as we don't have serious cash for him or new players.

I am not a fan of McInnes and he is not good enough IMO, better understanding of the Scottish game than what we have now yes but still not good enough.

The game on Saturday is a game we should be winning easy given the state Hearts are in but does any fan really feel confident of going there and getting a result!!

  6. Not sure I agree with that johnny. I think Herrera could be the target man with Morelos picking up the scraps. Morelos also runs the channels more whereas Herrera seems to stay more central.

Speaking of the channels - anyone else notice just how willing Morelos is to do that dirty side of the game, running the channels and pulling defenders out of position ? We just need the midfield to then get up into the spaces he has created - and I noticed at one point in such a case we had as many as 5 players in the County box. Could very much help us this season with that channel running that Miller USED to do.

I just think both are out and out strikers and will score for fun if given the chance. Morelos will chase more so maybe he can be a Miller type player but he's much more clinical than him.

As I said somewhere maybe it would work but I think we'd need our midfield/wingers to help them more :)

  7. From what I've seen, Herrera is more similar in style to Miller than Morellos.

I certainly don't see any similarity in Herrera and Miller, I would've said Morelos if I had to choose between them.

Funny how we see things differently :)

  8. I'd quite like to see Herrera and Morelos play together for a few games at least but the slight problem with that is Morelos may have to play the deeper role which perhaps negates his scoring instincts somewhat.

A Naismith type would be ideal to replace Miller.

It would be good to see if they could play together maybe it would work if other players created more for them but I just feel a Miller type player with either would be better, Naismith would be an ideal replacement.

Miller is getting on a bit we all know but in his role he is still a decent squad player to have but we don't have many if any alternatives to him and we should have.

  9. Morelos and Herrera won't work both are too similar and not versatile enough to create each other chances.

Unless we replace Miller with a younger and/or better version he is still the main man to bring others into play and will play up front with one of these strikers whether you like it or not.

IF we don't sign someone he will play most weeks.

  10. Read the post again, I did nothing of the sort. The question i posed had nothing to do with him. The other members who have been applying the ratings are doing that all by themselves, based on yet another rubbish performance.

But without even seeing the game you mention him as being poor ahead of anyone else even though others have got the same rating as him and some got less, yet you mention him as usual and no one else.

He is useless in midfield we can all agree on that but Dorrans for me was also very poor for the second game in a row, Windass was also posted missing most of his game time.

I won't reply to your biased posts again on Miller as it's getting tiresome seeing the same posts over and over even if he's not the worst player for us.

  11. The usual poster turning this into an anti Miller thread, but it's nothing personal, and he didn't even seen the game :)

  12. Being unable to beat "bus parking" is annoying and we have to solve that by getting a decent speedy winger, haven't a clue who.

Another thing I have noticed is Pedro's tactic of having all players back at corners, set pieces etc.,which IMO shows a lack of confidence in our defence.

This is a throwback to McCoist times. We need to put a couple of players forward as this will draw out the numbers of opponents and allow a possible quicker counter-attack.

With quick players like Candieas and Morellos it could prove worthwhile.

Totally agree, we could do with wingers with speed especially on the left. We have players who will score us goals IMO, but we don't have players who create enough for them or can even score themselves.

  13. Sorry, but you are wrong. I give him praise when it is deserved. It just doesnt happen very often as his performances dont merit it. You can check back threads where he got praise from me (ICT last season where he scored a belter if I recall) The sitter was not the one from the keeper, that wasn't even a half-chance in my book and done well to get anything on it at all, it was the one he hit the post at 1-0 and admitted himself post-match he should have scored.

And that shot took a deflection so it was maybe a bit of luck needed as when they got their own goal with a deflection these, things happen in football all the time but to single that out is picking on him IMO.

He was one of our best players most of last season but you won't admit that of course.

He put most of the players to shame in a terrible season yet you slated him most weeks above far worse players and their performances.

You obviously will continue to do so to him much more so over other players so I don't see the point in continuing to reply to your posts as you will never admit you are wrong on this subject.

  14. In my opinion he was by far our worst player. Missed a sitter that would have put us 2-0 up and cruising, then when moved about was utterly useless and contributed nothing positive.

I am allowed to mark the players same as anyone else, and he had an absolute stinker. I dont think anyone who watched the game live from the stadium could disagree.

He wasn't great but he wasn't the worst player yesterday but your marks say he was by a mile and you slate him every week no matter how he plays. He was one if not thee best player against Dunfermline and had a hand in the win against Motherwell yet you still wanted him benched. The sitter you say he missed was a kick out by the keeper and he actually reacted great and was very unlucky not to score. You don't like him fair enough but the abuse you give him is uncalled for.
