Why do we insist on talking about transfers via the Newspapers? Just get it sorted and then release the statement FFS. Job done.
And hey Novo wants a return! Can't wait for him to partner Boydy or Miller! Honestly speaking...if this happens our club should get a knighthood for services to short termism...

I thought this thread was about using a recent success story as a possible inspiration for us (as we attempt to get back to our feet) as opposed to a direct comparision with a team like Dortmund? Dortmund fell below the standards they set for a decade or so and found themselves in major financial trouble due to terrible off field management. They regrouped, restructed and put in place a program that has reaped great rewards over the last 2/3 years. Whether they have continually succeeded in Europe over the last few years is by the by IMO. They have won 2 Bundesliga titles during a strong period for rivals Bayern and this season managed to make an impact in the CL but ultimately they have laid the foundations that will put them in good stead for the next few years. Whether you play in the Beazer Homes League, the Championship or the Scottish Football league, surely adopting a on/off field structure that has long term vision and financial prudence is attractive to anyone looking for success?

PS Dortmund have been poor in Europe (or not even qualified) for the last 10 years. They started this season 65th, 15 places below us, in the UEFA rankings. We have yet to see if their success is sustainable or a one season wonder.
C'mon...are you at the wind up? A one season wonder? Are you forgetting they won the previous 2 Bundesliga titles before this season when Bayern where also very strong (ie. Getting to CL's finals) As for the UEFA rankings.... like the FIFA ones, they are utterly pointless.

And our manager needs 10 million to win the 2nd Division...

I seriously can't take this shit anymore. What's next? Craig Whyte was being bankrolled by Dermot Desmond...

Jeso...this is worse than the Mafia....

hes a wank
he works players hard.
he plays worse football than ally.
I find the last part of that statement hard to swallow tbh... That cannot be possible surely?

I only, if only.
That would need someone with vision, when have we had people like that.
A Jim McColl would have been ideal
Unfortunately the words vision and Rangers are strangers at the moment

Dear god I hope he was just up on holiday FFS. The idea of Warnock having anything to do with Rangers is depressing. Notthing against the guy (he seems ok?) but he's yesterdays man. We need a new a vision, not more stop gap thinking

Should they not be talking about the other lots super title triumph...? Or the attendance at their party?

Did this song not come from Italian football?

The article was stimulated by the appearance of the then First Minister, Jack McConnell on Radio Snyde, hosted by station MD, Paul Cooney. It was the evening of ra Sellik's UEFA cup tie with Liverpool at ra Stydome. Paul Cooney was a member of the Board of Scottish Enterprise(Glasgow). McConnell was on to announce the plans for the Velodrome were ratified and the funding was in place. Further, the Commonwealth Games would be opened and closed at ra Stydome. The relocation of Sports Scotland from Edinburgh to Parkhead was sheer coincidence, ah mean the CEO of Sports Scotland was/is Brigit McConnell(Jack's wife).
I'm surprised the papes never took hold of this...? Oh wait I forgot....

7-8 years ago? We need to get this to fore. This is a friggin scandal.
Well done on the article BTW
The vast majority of that piece was penned by myself some 7-8 years past. It was originally posted on FollowFollow and the thread was prominent for weeks. It is a common error when folks lift the article(and I have no problems with anyone wanting to spread such information) that disbelievingly they change the three streets(Dalriada Street, Kinloch Street, and Janefield Street) sold by the then Glasgow District Council to ra Sellik from the accurate 'one penny' to a pound. It's true, the then Convenor of GDC, Pat Lally was forced to call a full council meeting of all 102 councillors to verify the original decision taken by the Planning Committee. Ra Sellik were allowed to significantly increase their land bank in the immediate proximity to their stadium through the generosity of their supporters on GDC.
Both Rangers and Partick Thistle had similar plans lodged with the same Committee to increase their land banks. Rangers had an agreement with Junior club, St Anthonys to purchase their ground for £250,000 and construct a reserve/youth team stadium. Thistle had plans to convert the canal area behind Firhill into a small hotel, leisure, watersports centre. Both these applications were NOT looked on sympathetically by the very same committee, in fact they deliberately stymied these applications.

Cheers. Seems to me that this should have more prominence? Friggin scarey reading

Grabbed this from another forum. Has anyone else seen this?
I know this is for Rangers Chat but I suppose this indrirectly relates to us after the events of the last few years.
Interesting reading tbh
Feel free to move please if not in the right place

The google-eyed little fecker is finished...

Rangers should demand to be reinstated back into the SPL, full reinstatement, illegal transfer embargo lifted and all money owed by the SPL and SFA returned forthwith also voting rights returned, full membership renewed and a public apology by Stewart Regan for allowing punishments to be levied at a Club which was the victim of Criminality.
I second that emotion but the crooks at the SPL are probably concocting some new penalty for us based on this judgement....

Turning out to be a decent day for us...

Govan IRA? As a Govanite, that is depressing. Sometimes it's hard to love this city I was born in. Parts of our town centre resembles The Walking Dead at the best of times and now we probably have to bodyswerve Jeanette Findlays bandwagon on a regular basis. What an utter embarrasment

I have to take issue with the original story. Hemmings hardly had goalscoring "drought" did he? For goodness sakes, he's played about 5 minutes in the first team without scoring and this joker labels it a drought.

Where we are heading? Well on the pitch....after watching today's game and most of the games this season, I fear I have to quote Dumbarton's own David Byrne..."We're on a road to nowhere"
