  1. good job RB, although i was going to be the admin for it :P

    come on folks! join in! you can join next week and have the league starting from matchday 2 if people need more time!

    and S_A, where is your team?! dont tell me you've actually been in uni?!

  2. Any gersnetters signed up for this? always good fun and less frequent than premiership/spl but you can get involved as you like!

    Ive always been a fan, and would recommend it!

    Its free of course and some decent prizes etc check it out here

    got to be quick tho! deadline for first round of matches is 7.30 tonight!

  3. re-read the site, and they should be done by today! ach well, maybe next time!

    any1 heard anything about what its going to be? still think the scottish and brittish flags will be hard to top!

    loved the one that o2 helped organise for last game at highbury when everyone was wearing coloured t-shirts so it was like that for the whole game!

    be cool to see something new and innovative...

  4. Good deal, who is tht with

    its pretty complicated so i hope you can keep up!! (i know i'll struggle when I have to travel!!)

    OUT

    Prestwick -> Dublin (Ryanair)

    Dublin -> Barcelona (aer lingus)

    RETURN

    Gerona -> Shannon (Ryanair)

    Shannon -> Prestwick (Ryanair)

    if anyone has a more complicated route id love to hear it :D

  5. Was wanting to go to either Stuttgart or Lyon because already visited the Nou Campe and wanted to go to a different stadium, but the Uncle and his mates wanted to go to Barca but am not complaining.

    How much was your flights Andrew and Gaz sounds a nice we trip

    after alot of browsing, making the return trip for somewhere between £100 and £110, just waiting for the cost of the euro things to come thru!

    mon-fri :) cant wait :cheers:

  6. I see alot of bears have already booked up all the easyjet/globespan flights from UK to Barca already - judging by the prices now!

    I am really hoping to make the trip (and working hard to persuade my dad to come - he went with his dad to barca last time we played there!) but I was wondering how the ticket thing would work.

    I know Barca have one of the largest stadiums in Europe, but how many of those tickets will we get? will any be able to be snapped up by fans just going over? I have been a member of the travel club for the last 2 years, but have yet to make a trip. But i do notice that you are much more likely to get a ticket if you take the flight option with the club rather than independent (thats another issue which i may rant about another time...) but I would like to be able to make a wee holiday out of it, see the city for a bit AND get to the game.

    what are the chances of getting tickets? and what about sitting in the barca end with all the recent attention our away fans have been under?

    Any information on any of the above would be great :thup:

    Cheers

  7. treated just like the other rounds, when the draw was made for the 3rd QR like when we were seeded for it, but still hadnt disposed of zeta - if they had gone through they would have had our seeding in the draw.

    kinda like when artmedia got seeded for the 3rd round 2 years back despite having no european record :D

    As so much is at stake, and the draw can be so complicated with "pairings" to make sure teams from the same country are playing on different nights eg Real and Barca, us & the tims etc AND they end up in different groups to start with, they prefer to see the 32 teams who have made it through.

    It is very sad circumstances indeed that have caused this unforseen issue, and thoughts and prayers go to family and friends of the poor boy who lost his life in Seville.

  8. aye, looks like it was the websites mistake! cos that quote came from the article you linked to!

    I'm waiting till we find out if we're through before celebrating, hopefully by then I will have enough spare cash to do so properly :D

  9. Boydy Bounces Back

    KRIS BOYD has put his recent goal drought behind him by netting a double as Rangers beat Airdrie United 3-0 in a bounce match held at Murray Park this afternoon.

    The club's prolific hitman looked back to his best and Rangers fans' will be hoping that today's goals will be the first of many for the Scotland star this season.

    Walter Smith fielded a strong side for the friendly against Kenny Black's men with Boyd being partnered by Daniel Cousin, who also scored, in attack while recent signings Steven Whittaker and Andy Webster also enjoyed 90 minutes of football in a Light Blue jersey.

    The match also gave Charlie Adam, Alan Gow, Ian Murray and Filip Sebo the chance to impress the gaffer ahead of Saturday's SPL clash against Falkirk while Chris Burke also made a return to action following his lenghty spell out due to an ankle injury.

    Looks like S_A forgot to tell us about Cousin's goal :D

    really pleased with the squad we have, the strength we have is better than I have ever known it. would love to see boydy and Cousin up front against falkirk :thup:

  10. You take any photos of them mate? :devil:

    Did you pass on my no. 2?

    If I did, do you think I'd share them?! :flipa: lol

    going back to original post, that would be the best team to go for - especially as novo and beasley are very good at tracking back (almost making a midfield 5 if we need it) and from what I saw on sat (2 assists and his presence causing mistakes in the ICT defence for the 3rd goal) McCulloch will do well in the lone striker role.

    I was not impressed when we were linked with him (LM) - especially for the money but he has more than changed my mind and if he keeps going like this will very soon become a fans fav :thup:

  11. Official site pics - Gers in Montenegro

    Don't take this the wrong way as I'm a fan of Allan, decent no.1 imo. But why are the official site pics an homage to AM? :D

    lol! maybe one of the Gers media girls has a thing for him! met the girls when I was over and germany, and if its that "emma dodds" girl who writes the odd story for the site then he is a lucky bastard!

    She's HOT :cheers: :thup:

  12. Great post usual!

    We may not like or agree with the situation we find ourselves in, but as the true lyrics of follow follow say "we'll give anything to see our team at ibrox or away" and if this means having to stand up to fans who bastardise our songs then so be it. It wont be easy but is something we all must start doing at gers games and outlaw the vocal minority threatening to destroy our club.

    If its a choice between Rangers and (god forbid) no Rangers, I know where I stand.

  13. £8.4mil for Thomson, Whittaker and Brown will be doing their finances no harm. :(

    makes me wonder about our youth development... would we get 8.4 mil for hutton, smith and adam?? i dont know...

    also, are hibs getting the money because they actually played their youth? are our youth players any better and just not getting first team action soon enough? if so, and we keep going down this path, it will be a costly one...

  14. As good a player as barry has been, I dont think that this stat reflects fairly on european campaigners of the past.

    Players like Greig never played as many qualifiers against the minnows, and before the group stage thing was introduced, you had to win over the 2 legs to get another 2, not get 4 or 6 games win, lose or draw.

    Not slating Barry Ferguson, more a case of highlighting the great servants of the past!

    Well done barry all the same :thup:
