After watching all the video's of the Development team recently i have not seen any defenders that give me confidence to step up to the first team to be honest.I thought Ball looked the best defender we have but Kiernan No1 choice.
Gasporotto? I know he's away with Canada at present.
I found it interesting that he was older than Ball though.

I can't see your last image being a money spinner these days bd ............

He'll be a better analyst/pundit than he was a manager that's for sure.
Add plasterer/politician/engineer/rocket scientist to that list too ..............

Was my birthday that day, what a present that was.

Amazing to think Halliday is still only 23, his performances so far this season are likened to a seasoned Pro in the centre of the park.
Keep it up Andy and you'll be seeing a testimonial in 10 years my fellow bear.
"He's one of our own, he's one of our own .......... Andy Halliday, he's one of our own"

I genuinely want to believe that Ally will come out and explain his reasons for taking the cash and will be putting it to good use or giving it back. I have a secret hope that his £15pw (ish) has been going straight into Rangers First and that's part the reason they are so cash rich at present but I know it's a long shot. I just hope there is a very good reason in all of this. I think most of us feel the same.
But right now I hate him.

Obviously a lot of concern that Ally's still drawing a wage, and understandable. For me he'll always be a legend and should always be welcome back at Ibrox, just perhaps not in any sort of employed role... (Possibly some role as a club ambassador, but better if it's unpaid).
Here's a thought though. How would people react if he were to use the money's earned on gardening leave to buy out the Easdale block and rid us of them, would that be enough to repair some of the damage? Not that I've heard anything (don't have the connections that some around here do!), just thought it might be an interesting turn of events were it to happen!
I think he NEEDS to do something exactly like that in order to regain his legendary status. Otherwise he will remain tarnished as it stands.

I've went for Laudrup's header that won us NIAR.

Wouldn't read too much into what Arsenal do in training, watched them tonight and they looked nothing like world beaters, very ordinary against a mediocre Liverpool side.
I think Arsenal are very similar to us at present (albeit on a much higher level).
Good to watch i.e. they play lots of one touch stuff, plenty of movement. Sharp and crisp.
Shoot themselves on the foot numerous times
Concede far too many chances
Don't have that traditional penalty box striker
And that is by no means meant as a criticism of us.
If I was Wenger I'd be screaming at the board to spend £50M on Benzema however.

Really looking forward to seeing this boy play.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him at Hibs to be honest
Agreed. He's also a Hibs fan. And would be a good signing for Hibs.

Yep, Paul McHale - is/was also a community coach with us.
Used to play against him at school back in the day, he played in the same school team as Gary Caldwell. Think it might have been Wallace High or something.

I would keep Clark to be honest. I wasn't his biggest fan by any stretch, but in this new, fast-paced environment I can actually see him getting some form and banging in some goals this year. With pacy wingers prepared to go past a full back you will also want a pacy striker that can keep up with play - Clark is our best option in terms of keeping up with play as McKay or Oduwa tear past defenders.
Zaliukas I would dump. I don't care how many times BH says he is a "seasoned international" - he is still a bomb scare. Gary Holt played for Scotland 10 times and I wouldn't have had him near my team either
Shiels did OK last night but also got caught in possession a fair bit. We have better options now
Templeton - not sure what is going on there. Started the season OK but seems to have dropped out of favour (or is he injured ?).
Crawford - the lad never impressed me I have to say.
I saw a rumour that Templeton was injured, unsure if that's true.
I would also keep Clark if we don't bring in another striker. But I'd like to see a poacher come in.

Stubbs is just lucky Ally is still taking a wage or we'd have a 40+ goal striker added to the new recruits aswell .................

Ayr missed the boat(no pun intended) about 10 years ago when the big supermarket chains were sniffing around.
I think they had an oppertunity to sell somerset and relocate to the edge of town.
Think they got greedy and as said, missed the boat.
It wont come sailing bye again anytime soon.
I sea what you did there ........

I'd like to see us move on a few if anything with possibly one or two more coming in.
Namely Zaliukas, Shiels, Clark, Templeton and Crawford.

Not a huge fan of Murdoch in all honesty, granted he was a little tidy player but that's about it for me. Didn't dictate games and didn't have that spark that I seen from Lewis McLeod.

Not sure what that has to do with Scott Allan unless Zaliukas was part of the deal. I will be sorry to see him go; a cultured international defender, albeit prone to the odd rash tackle and loss of concentration but far superior IMHO to Kiernan.
Surely we're not going back to paying players off?
I'd have Kiernan over Zaliukas every single day of the week.

Do we trust the new players W&W have brought us in so far? I expect Eustace to be the exact same, an immediate improvement.
It's a yes from me.

From the Scotsman Toumani Diagouraga is linked:
28 year old defensive midfielder - contracted at Brentford until June 2017 - played 43 games for Brentford last season.
Would this suggest Eustace is not proving his fitness?
The last interview I watched of MW it sounded as if Eustace would sign in the near future and was doing fine. Can't see us signing both.

I suspect a scathing statement is being drafted by the RST right now.
I'd hope so, the RST have been on the ball with responses recently to be fair.

Not questioning you or your mate, but has this been confirmed anywhere "official"?
No mate, as anything I will post what I hear but I will also take it with a pinch of salt. I expect most others will also.
My mate isn't one to lie though.

If he did not realise his tyres had been slashed till he reached the motorway, then he is not the brightest bulb in the house.
I took from the story that they weren't slashed fully and at that point weren't flat. But it was an obvious attempt to do it.

This is brilliant - arguments about football stuff! We really have turned a corner!
Don't forget the media attack on us for merely bidding for a player under normal circumstances, we are well and truly on our way back to the very top.

For the folk saying "we don't need him" etc let me ask you this ...... If Halliday took a bad injury today who would play in that role?
** awaits the shoe horning replies.
