Can't disagree with that, but how are we financing the recruitment? Sure we'll free up some wages with those out of contract, we may get fees for Ridvan, Lammers and Hagi (but then again we might not).

We can't force players to leave so even if we do get offers, the players may chose to stay. So are you advocating we terminate contracts and payout what they are owed?

This window we may get lucky in the fact that Butland may well be sold and its looking likely that SG is going to bid for Goldson and Tav (but I'm hearing Tav is reluctant to move to Saudi).

With £4.5M already tied up for Diomande, is it more loans and free-signings we're relying on?

A combination of all of that I think and some young players with potential to make us money.

We should almost certainly be taking a punt on young SPL players with a deal to keep them at their club for game time. We need much more of a long term view, one problem since coming back up is that we have had such a short term view to try and stop ten in a row.

None of the strikers we signed last summer are good enough in my view. Crazy how much we spent on players to end up in a same or worse position than we were in before. It's been the major problem of our season. Dessers has a decent goal tally when looking at the figures, but watching him and knowing how many chances he has spurned paints a different picture. Not good enough to rely on as our main striker, but potentially useful as a squad player.

Clements signings have been a mixed bag too, I am not convinced by Diomande however he still has time to develop into a useful player, 4.5 million of a player though? I'm not sure.

Cortes looked quality in the brief time we saw him, but many players initially shine and then settle into mediocrity. He could still go either way but he is the most exciting signing of recent times for me.

Silva is dump, I cannot believe his price tag. Jesus.

For me, it's time to say goodbye to Tav, Goldson and Lundstrum, and whoever else I may be missing that have been at the club too long. Great players in terms of their skills, but a broken mentality.

Souttar isn't good enough in my view, he has a major mistake in him every game.

Yilmaz is injured too often to rely on.

I'd keep Sima but he isn't ours.

I mean, we are really in a shockingly poor state. Clement is going to have to perform miracles in the transfer market to turn this around.

Can't argue with any of that.

  3. I am keeping hope alive but inwardly know it was over at RC.  I am getting a wee bit annoyed by all the negative stuff from the fans.  I am more in the camp of "if only we didn't have all those injuries"  because in my heart I believe we would have won it #schizophrenialoyal

Thought we dealt with the jam tarts no well today. If I could clone Big Balogun I'd paly him next to himself and get rid of Souttar too. Well done Leon. Diomande brought some composure back to the midfield and showed his class on a couple of occaisions. Both Cantwell and Sterling played like lions today Tav even lifted himself to have his best game in a fair while. But of them all I thought Dessers was excellent and could easily have had a hat trick, but tried to give a goal to Silva who I think was anticipating a tackle and went down like burst ball. Hopefully Shanklands admirers will calm down a bit now, he is never a Rangers player, and barring a good cross did little of import in the game.

    I wish he was younger.

  5. We were much better today, showed a lot of effort and commitment and some lovely moments, especially from Diomande and Cantwell.  Great to see Balogun and  Diomande back and McAusland doing well for us too, especially tracking back.  Dujon had a good game also.  Well done to Dessers for his 2 goals.  Lundstram started badly but came onto a good game.  The keeper made a couple of excellent saves.  I didn't miss Connor Goldson slowing the game down by taking too long on the ball and the boring  passes along the back line.  We have given ourselves a good platform now and need to carry the same urgency into our next game.

I've got a funny feeling the manager might put his Jacket on and walk away he might see it as there's no point flogging a dead horse he's only damaging his own future in management

That thought crossed my mind too.  The job is overwhelming given the financial liitations.

  7. Lundstram's loss of form is spectacular.  Is this a sign he is moving on?  We suffered from this last season as well.  He has carried us for months and been the main man in midfield and is now a shadow of that player.

  8. It is quite the conundrum.  We need to make changes but it is not obvious who would make a difference.  If the manager made changes to key players he would be taking a massive risk under these circumstances.  I can't see it happening at this stage.

  9. These players have a lot to answer for. The manager does too.  The defense have got away with a lot this season but not in the last two games. They are rank rotten.  The 2 man midfield isn't working and needs to change.  Why is he playing Dowell?  He is worse than a man short and Lunstram has returned to type.   If Roofe is fit why hasn't he been playing?  It all imploded today and the only surprise is it didn't happen earlier.  It is like watching a Beale or Gio team.
