But the issue is, both are under contract. If they aren't playing, they need to be off the wage bill.
Two ways that happens, someone buys them, or we pay them off. Can't see either scenario panning out unless the Tav to Saudi rumours are true.
If we don't win the league, the transfer budget will be minimal and only topped up by selling players.
£6M for Tav if the Saudi rumours develop into firm bids, couple of million for Ridvan to Turkey, same with Hagi and Butland will add another £6-£8M (no way we'll get more for him). So that's another circa £15M and some wages freed up when you add in the out of contract players.
If Butland goes we will have a problem.

I would not want to keep any of the players we have on loan at the moment, and hope that shocking display by Lundstram puts a new contract for him in the bin. Our biggest issue for the monent has to be defence. I really feel sorry for the lad King who sits on the bench watching Goldson and Souttar who both suck.
FFS are you serious? King is garbage

I said it last week but some of our mainstays are not winners. We need to look at getting rid of Goldson, Tav and Lundstram - they're all past it.
How do we get rid off Tav and Goldson?
they’re both still contracted for another couple of years

But they didn't clear the squad out. If Clement can't see that persisting with these players will cost him his job then he doesn't deserve to be here, just like the previous two.
Like the old saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."
But he can’t clear the squad out if he’s got players on contracts.
We’re still paying certain players wages they’d never get elsewhere.
thats got to stop

Correct - Gio and Beale also delivered a decent honeymoon period then we reverted to type. We appear to be doing the same under Clement.
Surely any decent manager must see our failings & try to do something about it.
I genuinely despair when we get a corner & see Tavernier going over to take it. If on the right it out swings too far away from the goal or doesnt clear the first or second defender
we need a manager who’s going to change things which need changed

As well us being unable to defeat Celtic, we have dropped 11 points to teams who have finished in the bottom 6.
Let's be brutally honest, we were only in the title race as Celtic have regressed.
We have the same failings under Clement as we did under Gio and a Beale.
I'm not writing Clement off but we can't deny that recently, his team selections and tactics have been baffling and have cost us dearly.
We need a huge change in mindset right through the club. The honeymoon periods are over.
Clement is in the same position as his 2 predecessors.
Hes inherited a squad full of players he never signed who aren’t up to the job and can’t get rid off them.
Do we let him sign players in the summer like GvB and Beale did then when they’re not good enough sack Clement around September/ October and bring in someone else to see what they can do?And if he doesn’t work start all over again in a year’s time

Those would have been sufficient for the three points if we could have defended properly.
I think what he’s saying is we shouldn’t be relying on a o.g & a penalty.
We created chances & were in good position plenty times today.

So Dessers is the only forward player who's allowed to score goals? Dessers is our top scoring forward player.
He's not good enough for us but he's not solely the issue.
No he isn’t the only forward allowed to score goals but he’s our main striker and could/ should have had a hat trick today
He need replaced for next season.

Which was actually my point......
Our defence is in far more need of change than our forward players.
I’m sorry but Dessers had 3 easy chances today I’d expect any decent forward to score. Until we get a striker who can get 20 plus league goals we ain’t winning the league again

Tav’s corners are garbage. Can the manager not see this?

Does John Nelms own Dundee or is he placeman for a mysterious owner?
AFAIK Dundee are owned by American company Keyes Capital and Nelms was appointed by them

Apparently their stadium's drainage is not their responsibility.
Howcome? Nelms bought it back from the Dundee Utd director last October who had previously bought it at Dundee’s second administration & rented it to them.
They own dens again but the notorious Mr Nelms keep promising them a new stadium which never seems to materialise

How do you explain VAR team giving us a penalty? The foul on Silva was very similar to the foul committed by Lawrence. If ones a foul, so is the other.
They gave a penalty because it was a penalty. That’s what they’re there to do.
Was there a foul committed by Lawrence? Beaton was yards away when it happened. He didn’t give a foul

Whether or not it was a foul by Lawrence on iwata I think is debatable. He cuts across the front of Lawrence & looking to go down. Beaton has a perfect view of the incident 5yards away & plays on
what I would say if the same thing happened to us at Celtic park(Rangers player fouled) & one of the gang of 4 refereeing( Collum, Clancy, Robertson or Walsh) then the goal would stand

It has to be a clear and obvious error. Compare and contrast to the handball in the game at Parkhead.
I accept that there's an argument that it was that, but it also has to be in the same phase of play, and I'm not convinced it was. I'd have thought a new phase of play starts when the first cross is blocked
It was a goal
Var can only be used for fouls in the current phase of play. Two Celtic defenders had played the ball before Dessers scores. The ‘foul’ was committed in an earlier phase of play
var can only return to previous phases for red cards, violent conduct & mistake identity I believe.

I’ve watched the Dessers disallowed goal again. Regards the ‘foul’ by Lawrence on Iwata(?), the referee is in a perfect position to see it (about 5 yards away) but allows play to continue. Presumably he felt Iwata went down too easily or dived.
However Walsh & Connor on VAR were having none of it

I thought overhead conditions played a part in the game today. The team defending the goal at the Copland road end seemed to have the harder task.Us in the first half, them in the second.
That said the first & third goals we lost today were horrendous. We are conceding too many goals, particularly at ibrox.
We have seven games left with probably only two of them at ibrox. It looks likely we’ll need to take something when we visit Celtic park. I’d hope the team on that day will be more like the one that finished today rather than the one that started. We need to learn how to use matondo better

It's simply a must win game for us. If we have any aspirations of winning the league and becoming the dominant force in Scottish football, we must start to win / dominate these OF games on a regular basis.
Time for some of our more recent signings to show what they can do in this fixture

Well around this time tomorrow we’ll have some kind of idea if we’re going to take Celtics championship a win will be lovely but i think it’s going to be a draw the thing that concerns me most is our defenders inability to defend properly and often caught ball watching like zombies let’s hope the managers been addressing this during the week.
mon the gers.
We’re conceding too many goals at home for my liking

What worries me about Sunday is the amount of goals we’re conceding at ibrox this season & the lack of a proven goal scorer up front for this particular fixture

I note Humza is now planning to introduce legislation to ensure all Scotland international football matches are free to air.
Given recent circumstances, the right to view football Scot free should be allocated to Michael Matheson. Actually, it should be designated, 'the Matheson Bill'.
How’s he going to do that ? UEFA are in charge of Tv contracts for internationals

TBH I’m more worried about Walsh (& Connor) on VAR. Walsh should be nowhere near another OF game after his disgraceful performance in the last one at Parkhead. The penalty incident aside, he bottled it to send off one or maybe 2 Celtic players for second yellows.
Both Walsh & Robertson in the first OF game at ibrox ( disallowing a perfectly good goal by Roofe) have cost us 6 points this season

My point was that using Wilson's (mixed) record to make excuses for GvB is pointless. It is just kicking the can down the road.
RANGERRAB also never misses an opportunity - justified or not - to criticise the DoF model.
I’m not opposed to the DoF role. Wilson was the wrong man & seemed accountable to no one
