Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
kuznetsov replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
its certainly much easier to say they are not playing for the manager, that is how it looks anyway. i dont see one player in our current squad proud to play for ally, not one. i see alexander proud to be a footballer, mcculloch proud to play for rangers but the rest look like it is all about money and they couldnt give a toss. bocanegra is a top professional, we can only guess he feels about playing 4th tier football though, no doubt he is looking to move on privately as has been told to by his national team coach. far too many have poor attitudes. andy littles nose went out of joint after we signed a couple of strikers, goian hasnt bothered turning up yet this season, broadfoot is playing like he is franz beckenbauer and doesnt need to try, i think lee wallace looks like he is playing for a move. i suppose its all opinions and people are bound to disagree. -

i didnt think, i knew. he had no clue it was coming until after it was announced later that day. aj was made an outcast and ridiculed by all those on team whyte. you can imagine what side ally was on being club manager. he had no idea administration was coming, sure it was spoke about, it was brought up years ago but always rebuffed and denied. the eventual administration process had nothing to do with the EBT tax case either, it came about as a result of craig whyte making a mockery of the tax man and basically trying to bump him. he had the chance to get more money for jelavic earlier in the transfer window, why not take that if we were so desperate for it? everyone knew rangers have had seriosu money problems since the turn of the millenium, we had been downsizing every year since then, it was no secret and certainly not groundbreaking stuff form jelavic. at the time it looked like he was using it as an excuse to leave so it didnt look lik he wanted to leave, which we all knew he did. -
apologies, i was a bit quick there, you are right, all our away games will be sell out. what i should have said is no spl games will sell out this season, none.
-
yes, sell out saturday is all about the spl looking out for themselves.
-
they couldnt give the tickets away last season so i doubt they would be able to this year.

i completely agree mate and quicker than some think as well. i am happy with all signings so far this season, every one, the only one i think could struggle is the brazilian, the rest should have no problems holding their own. we thought that about sasa and lee last season but ally kept doing it. we do badly need width, mckay, little nor wallace are the answers for either flank. i believe he does, but like i have also said earlier, it looks like he knows what is wrong with th team, he mentions most problems us as fans see but it is getting him to fix those problems which is the stumbling block, he knows what the problems are, but doesnt seem to know how to fix them. ally has already spoke about playing better football, attacking football, time will tell if he impliments it or even tries. lets hope so. -
one we agree on.
-
no, i think ian is an excellent signing and a very under rated player. *see, i can be positive at times, but always honest!

ally came out in a press conference and said he was delighted with every single signing, smith also admitted ally had the final say on all players who came in on trial. ally was happy with them all and wanted them all. -

not one penny spent, nor should we have to for the level we will be playing for the next few years. plenty excellent freebies out there, we just need to find the right ones. -

sorted his team? he had a double winning squad, there was not much sorting needing done. league is the test because it suits your argument i see. eck and walter were both poor managers in europe, very poor comparisons tbh. their countries maybe of similar size but the clubs we faced certainly were not even close to being similar size to ours. again, that excuse and comparison does not work. i didnt say he had to sign 9, i said he was given 9, all of whom he wanted. we certainly didnt need them all as was proven with a few of them not kicking a ball. the rest is more excuses every club has to contend with. then better not to spend it at all then, no? especiallly when it wasnt necessary. no i dont, it just so happens first impressions last and count and european qualifiers come around early in football seasons, i base management on what i see on the park and from a long term strategy being played out, plg was by no means a good rangers manager but i think with his time at lyon and previous spell at rennes, he had a proven tack record of being a football manager, good or bad, he was a football manager, something ally never had and never was. plg gave scottish football its first ever victory on italian soil, did he not? he had us playing well in europe, he just couldnt handle the blood and snotters of the spl hammer throwers. ecks last season we qualified from our group with the lowest ever points total i think, those two matches v villarreal were certainly one offs that year, we were immense in both matches. it was the start of that season which lost us second place, by the time the villarreal match came along we were doing ok in the league results wise, only 2 defeats from xmas to may. again, i didnt say it wasnt allowed, i said they were being rolled out at every chance in support of ally. yes and he tried but too many players were against what he wanted to do. why attribute that him? again, because it suits? he wasnt here, it had nothing to do with him. the players should have been buzzing they got shot of him., that one match, that one chance blue and white had, he also made a total mess of, he should never have been in charge not even temporarily, it was yet another murray mistake. durrant was not and is not good enough to caretake or manage any football team never mind rangers! i have to disagree mate, plain and simple, i do not agree. yes, we should have. administration didnt lose the league, our collapse in november and december did. again, admin didnt happen until february, we crumbled long before those cuts, months before in fact. they are in direct reply to your post. "doing a job" is now deemed good enough? what fantastic job? i kind of agree on your past managers snippets there, except mccoist. so we disagree, that is what forums are for. -
cheers, do you know how many celtic have sold this season and how many they sold last season? i was looking for some comparisons.
-
celtic have only sold 26000?
-
what is that compared to celtic?
-
chase yourself. dont be so ridiculous. scaremongering at his worst.

but over paying for players is what we had become used to at rangers, that was the norm. totally agree with the second bit. again, i agree, too many bad signings, wastes of money but i would put aluko in the good signing bracket with bocanegra and wallace. -

no, please dont use craig whyte as an excuse for ally being poor. he got 9 players, every one he wanted. he got more wrong than right. managers very rarely get their first choice the world over. ally spoke of havin many names for many different positions. he was happy with the signings, or is he a liar?
