defiance? i think its pretty easy tbh, teams like killie, st johnstone, aberdeen and the like are much bigger and better in every sense than the likes of stirling albion and annan athletic. i might have read that wrong and that is maybe what you meant? the fact we are playing much weaker and mediocre opposition is a tremendous reflection on our support. celtic are playing the bigger teams in scottish terms yet cannot get the crowds we can. real radio used to do it every second week on their phone in show. radio clyde refused to entertain the debate for whatever reason. i dont know any tims who think we are bigger than them. to answer your question, bigger business, bigger stadium(higher average attendances over course of last decade), more scope for revenue, higher valued players, more internationals, possibly a bigger attraction brand wise worldwide, then there is their political power within the game and scotland. they seem to have friends in places we could only dream of. tbh i find it hard to argue that we are the bigger club. the one thing we do have over them is onfield success and this is exactly what the tims in authority are trying to take off us, oh and our dignity!! i dont think we will ever be able to financially compete with them until we expand our ground. for me that is the one thing holding us back against them. if mr green wants to leave a legacy, give us the biggest stadium in the country. put celtic firmly in their place. behind us! i have to agree about the tv bit mate, you are spot on. they have certainly been better run, that is true, average crowds of 58000 since they built the meccano dome up until the last few years helped them out no end too. i didnt notice their crowds going down until late into chesneys reign. all in all, i think we have so much hard work to do to get back to the top just in scotland.

viewing figures could be interpreted many ways though, i cant see rangers fans sitting through spl matches the same way non rangers fans seem so obsessed with our club that they will tune in in the hope we lose or maybe other football fans just out of interest, this footballing giant in the bottom tier. attendance figures i agree but i think ticket prices have a part to play maybe. yeah i meant commons, brown, riordan, loovens, mcgeough, broziek, izaguirre and maybe one or two others. are the bold bits not slight contradictions?
-
their match day tickets are much more expensive though and their season ticket price actually went up from last year.
-
i agree with just about everything you say there. you say it very well too. on the bold bit though, can you show some facts and figures to back that up? after the complete doing our club has had over the last decade by just about everyone from with the game and outside the game, i am struggling to believe we are the most popular and after losing several players to celtic over the last 5 years and financially being so inferior to them, i would like to see concrete evidence that we are indeed "bigger".

most of his injuries are in his head. the lad is injured alot.

its not as simple as black and white. unless no he doesnt and not in the same way should have been in the same sentence? i didnt mean it as two different statements. apologies. then how do we expect mcculloch to shout at defenders or even the goalie when he is stuck away up front himself? alexander wasnt in the shot, the camera was on lee and barrie so i cant really answer that bd. he may well be, i am not so sure, i just dont like strikers being captains. i have never really been a fan of them.
-
who is asking him to congratulate him? hahaha a simple wee, good luck son, all the best barrie, get intae them barrie, we need a bit flair theday son would have been nice, an acknowledgement by the captain the least he deserved.

it reads like a scatter gun defense of a failing manager.

the strangest of comparisons and weakest of arguments. last time i looked, this was a forum for talking the subject of rangers. i am sure news buffs have their own forums. :-/
-
haha we dont have any. after so many new signings we have no one we could look at and say, he is a leader. jig was the lazy and easy choice but for me, not the right one.
-
no he doesnt. not the same way we always see alexander doing it. noticed jig completely blanked and ignored wee mckay when he came on the other day, is that captain material? nothing like looking after our young team, eh!
-
ha two good minds and all that
-
someone further back the field mate. preferably a defender, a midfielder if need be. never been a fan of strikers being captain. if it was me, i would have made alexander captain. every time i see him on camera he is communicating with team mates, shouting instructions and g'ing them on. jig doesnt do that.
-
100% mate.
-
haha aye right.
-
poor attitude apparently. very poor. and that is from the closest of family members.
-
should be a pay cut as his quality is decreasing and his legs are going but as long as he is left up front and is never allowed near our midfield again then i am ok with this. still shouldnt be captain though.
-
embarassing excuse. utter nonsense. another howler from ally.
-
tells its own story about our manager and it aint a good one.
-
i actually agree with him here, ally wasn't backed well enough and even some of those he did sign look like flops.
-
where is that post? i want to agree with it.
-
of course he did but he cant help himself.

are you seriously asking in what way training is different from match days? seriously? :-/ anyone over 10 should now the difference. trackies are most suitable for standing arms folded, face puzzled on the touchline representing one of the worlds greatest clubs? again, seriously? it has nothing to do with the team playing better, its about respect, stature, self respect. it has nothing to do with how loud the crowd sing, its about representing those thousands of fans and making an effort with your appearance. and to the last silly question, yes, yes it does. look at the abuse tlb gets for wearing his tracky from rival fans. of course it matters. we have standards to keep, we have an appearance to keep up. we are what everyone wants to be. regardless of matter what he wears, he proves on a weekly basis he cannot get the most out of the players anyway. i dont expect you to get it. the whole suit thing, appearance, standards, expectations, none of it. no offense. it is quite sad what has now become acceptable to some.
