Should Bristol City sell their striker Jonathan Kodjia before Wednesday's transfer deadline, they may make a move for Rangers' Martyn Waghorn. (Daily Mail)
Hope this is nonsense.

How Lescott fared in the EPL last season is irrelevant. Most of the players he will face next season will be about two or three divisions worse than that at least.
Contrast that with the arrival of Scott Sinclair at Celtic and they've signed a world beater. Weren't they both in the same Villa side last year?

I'm not suggesting they're at the same level but could Garner be a similar type of player to Andre Gray i.e. strong - works tirelessly - good on either foot - decent in the air?
I also assume Garner would occupy the central role rather than drift wide the way Waghorn prefers to?
When all fit I assume a front three of McKay - Garner - Waghorn

Great news it's not a lengthy lay off but we still need to add a striker

Someone on FF mentioned yesterday that he saw McParland in Caffé Parma yesterday with what looked like and agent and a player. The thread was quickly removed.
Perhaps this is the player MW is hopeful of adding although we do tend to hear the same update regarding players before and after every game.

I doubt we'll see him again until next month but fingers crossed he's back early.
A good chance for Dodoo and MOH to stake a claim though.
It really is an excellent opportunity for Dodoo to stake a claim although I reckon we'll see O'Halloran given the nod first.

Frank McParland?

Can't see our academy U20s getting much of a look in again this season. I think Liam Burt is the only home grown teenager left in the main squad. Maybe Jordan Thomson and Jordan Rossiter will get more of a chance as they were actually brought in by the manager.
I hope Jordan Thompson gets a decent opportunity as I think we have a really good player in the making.

Actually, the odds have started on Will Griggs joining up, even though he has only been linked to Hull, Leeds and the Scum thus far. He's got a contract at Wigan till 2018 though.
I like Grigg as a player but Warburton had him at Brentford and loaned him to MK Dons so either didn't fancy him or put him on loan to get games a lá Hardie, Thompson etc. Wigan paid £1m for him last summer and given his 25 goals last season I think they'd be looking to double their money at least before selling.
Is he a better player than Bradshaw? Would Bradshaw cost less?

From the the gaffer (via FF):
I wonder what he see as a different type of striker i.e. a target man or a penalty box poacher

Mildly surprised at Dean Shiels leaving. Thought he'd make a good squad player for a season, especially as a sub. Hope there will be an additional signing to replace him.
We have signed Rossiter, Barton, Crooks and Windass so I don't imagine Shiels would have featured much anyway. If Kranjcar arrives too then I think we have midfield covered and should look to address GK, DF at ST positions.

I wonder if we may be wearing a new strip on Saturday...
Inside info or just speculating?

Does this mean we are able to negotiate with a new kit manufacturer? or does it mean we retain 100% of the profits from this day forward meaning Sports Direct get nothing?

Where has the McArthur chat come from? He's contracted for a further 2 years at CP.
According to Transfermarkt Morrison is out of contract this summer but I don't see him as a Warburton type player and I'd imagine wages would be an issue.

Does the window shut at 11am?
A little early perhaps! Maybe 11pm.

Warburtons pre-match interview (I understand these arent always a good indicator) he said they are still working hard on getting MOH and he would be hopeful of the signing or at least some new within the coming days.
Did he actually say they were working on getting O'Halloran because he doesn't normally mention specific players?

In regard to the Waghorn rumours I think he'd be crazy to move just now. We've all heard repeatedly how he's benefited from a consistent run of games and from having a manager who believes in him. Would he jeopardise that now?
Regarding Law, Clark and Bell I think we'd listen to any reasonable offers. I could believe we'd be willing to release Bell from his contract having signed the Polish goalkeeper. I don't think Clark will ever develop into a player who is a regular pick in the starting 11 but if he is to go then we need a better replacement. As for Law, although granted his wage could be an issue, Warburton spoke of him when he arrived and said he was an important part of his plans. Law offers something to the team - energy, workrate and experience but perhaps if we were to sign Diagouraga it would lead to a midfield 3 of Halliday, Diagouraga and Holt and Law wouldn't be as big a part of Warburtons plans.
With just over 2 weeks of the window left I'd like to see us sign a defensive midfield player (Diagouraga) and a striker. I have my doubts about whether O'Halloran would be a regular this season or next and would rather we targeted a genuine goalscorer like Tom Bradshaw. However, the players Warburton has signed have all fitted in well so I'm 100% comfortable with whoever he decides can add value.

Default Potential January signings
Warburton looking to bring in 4 players during January, one is a striker on loan from Chelsea.More information once I get it.Cheers.
Could it be Patrick Bamford who is expected to return to Chelsea in January from Crystal Palace?

As I've said before don't look for us signing any player from the Scottish league's in January..
O'Halloran from St Johnstone has been mentioned - I take it that's not a goer?
With McPartland having most of his contacts down south I'd hope for a striker and a defensive midfielder of comparable quality (or better) to those signed in the summer

Which games will he be covering ... Scottish, English or Champions League?

This is a huge opportunity for Barrie McKay. He clearly had the ability a couple of years ago but was maybe lacking in application. I think he has all the attributes to be a top player. He has an excellent turn of pace and I love the way he plays with his head up. I'm delighted he's been given the opportunity to prove himself and it just shows what proper coaching and man management can achieve.

I guess we have only 4 months until the January window opens. If we need to strengthen in January it's not too far away. We are going along nicely at the moment and the management team have done an excellent job so far. If they decided they were happy with the squad then I don't think we can question them.
