  1. Not overly keen on the idea of this happening but have heard that we have approached Darren Barr from Hearts

    I thought Barr was decent when he was at Falkirk but he hasn't progressed as well at Hearts. He's 28 now and surely solid enough for SFL2. What's happened to our rumoured interest in Andre Bikey? Too expensive?

  2. The need for defensive reinforcements is obvious and I hope McCoist has targets in mind but I guess you can only sign players as and when they become available. Perhaps the four mentioned are keener to get their futures sorted out.

  3. If King and/or McColl attempt a takeover I wonder what Mike Ashley will do? Could he make a move too? he could easily buy Ranges if he wanted

    I think Ashley's loyalties lie with Newcastle. His involvement with us is purely business.

    I think King is the more likely given that McColl always denies any interest.

  4. Scottish FA Board statement on league reconstruction

    Wednesday, 17 April 2013

    The Board of the Scottish FA has issued the following statement in relation to league reconstruction:

    â??Over the past 12 months, representatives of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League have worked tirelessly and collaboratively to present an exciting and financially viable proposal designed to take Scottish football forward for all 42 clubs.

    â??The outcome of Mondayâ??s Scottish Premier League vote, however, has been characterised by acrimony and rancour. Scottish football, even in times of grim uncertainty, should uphold the value of mutual respect, especially among clubs who all have a place within their communities.

    â??It should be remembered that 10 out of 12 top-flight clubs voted in favour of change. It is with this in mind that the Scottish FA reiterates its commitment to restructuring on the five principles of a single league body, fairer financial distribution, introduction of play-offs, parachute payments and a pyramid below the third division.

    â??The governing body calls on both the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League to re-affirm their commitment to the five principles.

    â??We are aware of public comments from club chairmen from both the SPL and SFL inviting the Scottish FA to intervene to find a solution. It should be noted that we have, over the duration of the reconstruction process, facilitated a series of discussions via our Professional Game Board. After the events of last summer, the Scottish FA called upon the leagues to meet under an independent chair with a view to agreeing reconstruction proposals by October 2012. This was rejected by the leagues, who sought to promote their own proposals.

    â??In December 2012, when that process faltered, the Scottish FAâ??s PGB invited all parties round the table to get the process back on track, which culminated in the agreement in principle in January. Following the separate meetings of each leagueâ??s clubs in January 2013, the Scottish FA again sought to provide assistance to take forward an implementation plan. That offer was rejected by the leagues.

    â??The Scottish FAâ??s rules â?? and the respective rule books of the league bodies â?? do not allow for the governing body, or any external body, to â??take controlâ?? of a separate company in possession of commercial contracts worth millions of pounds.

    â??However, if it is truly is the will of the clubs, the Scottish FA is prepared to get involved and act in the best interests of the national game. This will require a mandate to the Scottish FA from both the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League, so that positive changes to improve Scottish footballâ??s future can be proposed without the threat of legal recourse or judicial review.

    â??Structure, finance, voting and governance are the key issues all of which are intertwined and need to be reflected in one coherent set of proposals. The views of supporters and the general public must also be taken into account.

    â??Lest it be forgotten, with the honourable exceptions of Celtic and Rangers in recent years, Scottish clubs now routinely exit European football in the qualifying rounds. Our national menâ??s team are bottom of FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group A and are ranked 77th in the world rankings. Some of our biggest clubs are experiencing serious financial difficulty.

    â??There is no better snapshot to illustrate the current climate than the fact that the afterglow of goodwill and positivity generated by two exceptional William Hill Scottish Cup semi-finals this weekend lasted less than 24 hours.

    â??We all have a duty to protect and promote the national game. The Scottish FA urges the league bodies, and their respective clubs, to embrace the positive aspects of change now, or to formalise their request to the Scottish FA for external assistance.â?

  5. A decent player who's development was hindered by being stuck on the sidelines following his promotion to our 1st team. Could be a useful utility player and possibly a better option at right back than Heggarty although that's not saying much.

    At least McMillan is a right back which Hegarty isn't.

  6. ALLY McCOIST wants to sign Dundee United striker Jon Daly and Motherwell star Nicky Law.

    The Rangers boss will offer both stars pre-contract deals for next season.

    Fir Park winger Chris Humphrey, 25, remains high on Coistyâ??s list of targets. But SunSport can reveal hitman Daly and midfielder Law are the SPL star turns he wants to snap up most of all.

    The Gers gaffer has drawn up a dossier of players out of contract in the summer and both have been identified as men who would boost McCoistâ??s first-team pool. United skipper Daly is thought to have been looking at a move to England.

    But Gers have told United they want to talk to the 30-year-old.

    The Ibrox club have NOT yet been in touch with Well over Law, 24, but are expected to make contact this week.Gers canâ??t make any signings till September 1 but pre-contracts can be struck. Reinforcements may be necessary to satisfy Charles Green after he admitted to being unimpressed by McCoistâ??s team. However, the Ibrox supremo insisted McCoist is SAFE from the sack.

    The Yorkshireman said: â??Ally isnâ??t happy with where we are.

    â??We are all happy that in three more matches weâ??re likely to have won the league and thatâ??s fine.

    â??But in terms of the performances and how weâ??re winning, I donâ??t think anyone is happy.

    â??But the answer is not to fire Ally. Itâ??s to deal with the issues and try to improve.

    â??Ally has never been a manager.

    â??If I was judging him as a striker or his ability to score goals, weâ??d have a real benchmark.

    â??But he came to this having never managed a club and was thrown into one of the biggest clubs in the world.

    â??That is a challenge but to do it to that backdrop increases the enormity of the task.â?

    Green has vowed to make money available for new faces.

    But part of his plan to raise cash will see him sell the naming rights to Ibrox.

    Green added: â??We had a meeting a few weeks ago with the supporters and invited Sports Direct.

    â??We said then weâ??d narrow it down to two interested parties, but one of those was not prepared to commit until he knew what league we were going to be in.

    â??So weâ??ll go ahead with Sports Direct and now we are getting together some visuals for the fans.â?

    Green â?? speaking yesterday as he announced heâ??d lost £7million since taking over the club last July â?? has played down his recent bust-up with chairman Malcolm Murray.

    Green added: â??Itâ??s healthy for people to have different opinions.

    â??I have a style which is perhaps not ideal for everyone who sits round the boardroom table.

    â??If there are going to be clashes, itâ??s usually between the chief exec and the chairman.â?

    Not so sure about Daly but Law is a decent player - box to box midfielder and a good turn of pace too. Wouldn't want to see a midfield of Black and Law but wouldn't be against MacLeod and Law in the centre of the park in SFL2.

  7. Google? ;)

    G6.1.3 impose a fine;

    G6.1.4 annul the result of an Official Match;

    G6.1.5 order that an Official Match be replayed;

    G6.1.6 impose a deduction of points;

    G6.1.7 award an Official Match (with such deemed score as it thinks appropriate) to a Club;

    G6.1.8 order the playing of an Official Match or Matches behind closed doors;

    G6.1.9 order the closure of all or part of a Stadium for such period and for such purposes as it thinks appropriate;

    G6.1.10 order the playing of an Official Match or Matches at such Stadium as it thinks appropriate;

    G6.1.11 subject to Rule G6.3, order that a Club be expelled from the League;

    G6.1.12 withdraw or withhold the award of a title or award;

    G6.1.15 cancel or refuse the Registration of any Player Registered or attempted to be Registered;

    G6.1.16 order that a Club concerned be debarred from Registering Players for such period as it thinks appropriate;

    G6.1.17 order that any person, persons or group of persons be prohibited from attending at such Official Match or Matches and for such period as it thinks appropriate;

    G6.1.18 make such other direction, sanction or disposal, not expressly provided for in these Rules, as it shall think appropriate; and/or

    G6.1.19 make such order as to expenses, including the expenses of the Board and/or, as the case may be, Commission and/or other party, as it thinks appropriate.

    G6.2 When imposing a direction, sanction or disposal the Board or, as the case may be a Commission, may apply such number and combination of the directions, sanctions and/or disposals provide for in Rule G.1 as it thinks appropriate, may make such provision for time to comply with any one or more of same as it thinks appropriate, may defer for such period or until such event as it shall think appropriate the decision on or imposition of a sanction or sanctions and shall be entitled to suspend the effect of any such direction, sanction or disposal for such period and/or on such conditions as it thinks appropriate.

    So we're looking at the ones in bold or a combination of both.
