There seems to be an argument emerging that excuses Morelos simply by blaming Windass. That's a dangerous path to go down.

Merely an observation Bill I'm not making excuses for Morelos, he has been shite the last two games, all I'm saying is that they look to have switched, Morelos looks happy, while Windass really doesn't, possibly because he has been forced wide again

  2. Do we think Morelos would do better with a partner. I'm with db I don't really like formations that leave strikers isolated, particularly when it doesn't suit their game

We need to keep him for the time being, we can't afford to lose him at least until we can get someone in, I would keep a hold of him, I think he offers something different, however he needs to get out his own head and stop snatching at balls, his positioning can be suspect sometimes, he needs to work on heading a ball and his decision making can be suspect sometimes.

It would be good to get an experienced striker in to give him some guidance and take the burden off him a bit.

I'm hoping to god we can get Defoe, it would be a massive coup for the club even at his age, and he would be a good foil for Morelos.

I actually think Morelos looks the happiest he has been in the whole time he has been here, it's Windass that really looks like he doesn't want to be here.

For me, this signing is a young player that they want to have a look at with a view to potentially signing in 12 months time if they see promise. He won't be a starter, but he may have potential to eventually become one, which if he does, we will sign him

I would imagine Sadiq would be in this bracket as well

  4. Coulibally is an interesting one, i'm looking forward to see what he brings, it looks like he plays all over the place which might be a detriment to his actual skill set. From the videos I have seen of him he has played RM, LM, CM, DCM, maybe if he is tied down in a central position or a position he feel he suits, it will benefit him. As Pete says, maybe the players around him aren't helping him and he maybe needs some guidance, interesting if nothing else and possibly good back up.

Whats the deal with Ejaria, I never seen the game the other night did he play.

Dorrans is a funny one, I have been desperate for us to sign him, but unfortunately it has been a bit of a disaster, he may be useful to have coming back, but the older he gets the longer it will take to recover from injuries, the Davis rumours only make sense to me if it doesn't look like dorrans is coming back or will make a meaningful contribution this year.

  5. Not heard of the boy cooper before but he sounds like a pretty highly rated youngster after a quick google search. Is he within our reach, who knows.

As for Defoe and Ings, both really exciting, even with Defoe at the age he is and Ings with the knees he has (Didn't realise he was only 25) . We would really need to be getting them on reduced wages, there is no way we could justify spending that amount of money on Ings having the same injury record as Rossiter, also with Defoe being the age he is I would hope his wages would also be reduced.

Surely they can't command that big a wage, I could see a team like burnley taking a punt on ings because they know him, but surely its to much of a risk.

Wales Online mumbles something like there is sure well a clause in Windass' contract, again confirmed by papa Dean. And they also said that Swansea tested the water with a 1.5m bid. Apparently the Swans read to much of Ill Phill's gibberish.

3m clause or not, he won't go for less and it all depends on what Windass wants. If Welsh cash is in his mind, he's no longer wanted in SG's side, since the latter said that he wants hungry players.

Do you think there is a swap deal to be had with Windass if McBurnie is coming in the opposite direction.

  7. The loans don't bother me. I'm happy with the business so far, sorting out the defence was the main priority. he has also made a good acquisition in Arfield. These young guys will fill out the squad and provide different options and should be enough to at least see us through a couple of rounds of the Europa league. Our hands might be tied until the English teams come back and the decide who they want and don't want in their squads, I would imagine if we do manage to qualify for the Europa league we will be able to attract a higher quality of player as well

  8. McGregor

    Katic   Goldson McCrorie

                                                                                   Tavernier                                                                  John

    Rossiter Jack Arfield

    Murphy

    Morelos

  9. Had a quick look on youtube there, we all know you tube videos can be deceiving lol. He looks two footed, fast, strong on the ball, more like a conventional winger, can play on both sides but isn't afraid to cut in and go through the middle.

I would hope its a permanent deal, as folk have said you don't really want to be taking a load of youngsters on loan, if you were going down the loan route it is better that it is someone worthwhile, like Solanke (as mentioned before), guys that would otherwise be out of reach on a permanent basis.
