Martin ??? My fear would be a scenario like Newcastle where Dennis Wise was brought in because of who he knew.
-
I posted most of that last week in three lines. What is wrong with the following is they were on trial before they were signed. Ally could have said, not good enough. ''But I understand neither the chief scout nor the manager knew anything about a large number of these players until they had pitched up at Murray Park on trial.''

STUART LESLIE always dreamed of clinching silverware for Rangers. On Saturday he lived out those childhood fantasies. Sort of. The Elgin City striker scored a penalty to beat Queenâ??s Park 1-0 â?? and see his beloved Gers crowned Division Three champions in the process. Inverness-born Leslie, 22, used to travel from the Highlands to Ibrox with his father Ian. And he revealed his family were bursting with pride at his role in the Rangers story. Leslie said: â??I grew up a Rangers fan, so as a boy I always dreamed about scoring a goal to win them something. It wasnâ??t exactly that, but it was probably the next best thing. â??When I came off on Saturday I had afew messages on my phone. One said â??Thatâ??s you written into the history books nowâ??. Heâ??s taken that too far, but itâ??s a nice thought. â??My dad is a massive Rangers fan so he was delighted. â??I scored at Hampden and it helped Rangers win the league, so it was perfect for the family. â??I had a few pals text me as well. I might not have to buy a drink the next time weâ??re out.â? Former Inverness kid Leslie has watched Rangers from afar since turning pro. But he played alongside current Gers pair Kyle Hutton and Ross Perry for Scotland Under-19s and is thrilled to see them do well. He said: â??I know Ross and Kyle from when I was at Caley Thistle and got into the Scotland squad. â??I donâ??t know them particularly well, but Iâ??m pleased for them. They deserve it and hopefully they can kick on now. â??I used to go to games with my dad and weâ??ve been down to Ibrox for European nights. â??When I started playing it went on the back-burner a bit because Iâ??m playing on a Saturday. Thrilled â??But Iâ??ve still looked at their results every week and have supported them from afar. â??My dad wasnâ??t at Hampden or Montrose, but he was thrilled when I spoke to him.â? Although Gers won the title by a wide margin it was not as convincing as people expected. And after seeing several teams take points off them this term, Leslie reckons people will have more respect for the Third Division. He said: â??Rangers have slipped up a few times, but they were always going to get there. â??Being full-time was always going to be a big thing and they have some really good players as well. Theyâ??ve deserved to win it. â??But it has made a lot of people think differently about the Third Division. â??People started off by saying theyâ??d romp it. But the way it has worked out, with teams like Annan, Montrose, Stirling and ourselves taking points off them, they realise itâ??s a decent standard. Hopefully we can keep it going and get into the play-offs.â?

I've read it was done without Ally's consent, but these things you can take with a pinch of salt. I reckon it goes on everywhere unle ss there is a strong Manager.
-
Don't mind them getting rid, but they must do it the right way. As Gunslinger says, we could end up in court as much under Green as we were under Whyte.
-
If he recommended Argy, Faure and Cribari last summer, they would be better tearing the list up.

Advertising Standards Authority step into Scottish football

Rangers must be their last thought at night, and the first in the morning. It's a beautiful thing. -
Surely we can pick out the details of the message from the overblown reporting. We know how the media works, but that shouldn't blind us to the facts within the story. Whatever the truth about Murray, the relationship between McCoist and Green can't survive.
-
Why do the Rangers support always blame the messenger. There are worrying signs that all is not well, if CG wants to get rid of people, I hope he does it in the correct way. Whyte sacking Bain and the way it was carried out sticks in my mind.
-
A quick stab in the dark. They are hoping Ally puts his job on the line for a friend. All out by the summer, a cheaper option in. Whether we think Murray should go or not, it all seems very convenient.

RANGERS have been rocked by a fresh scandal after chief scout Neil Murray was suspended by Charles Green. Record Sport can reveal former player Murray has been ordered by the chief executive to stay away from the club until an investigation into last summer’s transfer activity has been carried out. But 11 days into the internal probe it’s understood no evidence of any misconduct has been uncovered and an outraged Murray is determined to fight his own corner. The shock development comes at a time when striker Fran Sandaza is serving a similar suspension after being the victim of a hoax phonecall, which was then broadcast over the internet. And it has come as a bombshell to manager Ally McCoist and other senior figures inside Murray Park. McCoist is believed to be standing by his former team-mate Murray and bemused by the claims of any wrong doing. At this stage, no known timescale has been set for the probe into Murray, who has been in charge of drawing up a list of potential signing targets for McCoist. MELTDOWN The Rangers boss hopes to recruit a number of free agents in September when the club’s 12-month transfer embargo is over. Murray helped identify a raft of new arrivals last year, at a time when McCoist had only a handful of first-team players to work with following the catastrophic financial meltdown caused by former Rangers owner Craig Whyte. Very few of those signings have lived up to expectation during what has been a difficult slog by McCoist’s side towards this season’s Third Division title. The reason for concern over the part played by Murray in those dealings is as yet unclear. But Record Sport understands Green demanded the probe after being given emails relating to some of the transfers. Last night, despite approaches made by Record Sport, neither Murray nor Rangers chose to make any comment. But an Ibrox source told us: “This situation is incredibly sensitive. Some very damaging allegations have been made but so far not substantiated and Neil is confused, outraged and distraught. “He knows if he had been guilty of anything inappropriate then he would have been dismissed, quite rightly, without his feet touching the ground. “But he’s still sitting at home sweating on his future. “Ally has also been placed in a very difficult position. At this point there is no way of knowing how it will play out but it seems, if nothing else, Charles has lost confidence in the manager’s chief scout.” On Wednesday, Rangers physio Pip Yeates was axed and Record Sport believes stadium manager Ross McCaskill is also set to lose his job as part of Green’s ongoing restructuring. The biggest disappointment is that it's the same old Rangers. The Rangers where Supporters were tolerated, given a tit-bit when ST time came around, then any constructive criticism/advice towards the Club, whether on-field or off-field were met with indifference or ignored. I thought after the summer, Rangers might have come to the conclusion that we the supporters are the most important part, that without us there would have been no Club. Unfortunately it seems we have not moved forward, just more sound bites, about England this time. Is the ST season just around the corner? -
2 wide players, none of whom beat the fullback and hit the bye line. Hutton must be dropped after today. How can full time players not be able to pass the ball?
-
Any odds on a substitute in 70mins?
-
Sitting midfielder and 1 up front against Stirling Albion!!
-
It's unbelievable the room we give opponents.
-
McKay needs to stay out wide, stretch them.
-
Attackers at least. RANGERS: Alexander; Hegarty, McCulloch, Cribari, Wallace; Faure; McKay, Crawford, Hutton, Aird; Hemmings. Subs: Gallacher, Argyriou, Murdoch, Naismith, Mitchell. *
-
He been watching Rangers recently as well ?
-
My opinion is that we have differing views of how to build a football team.
-
Don't agree, we need someone who can organise a defence, not someone who has been playing as a striker.
-
Just in case anyone looks at upcoming events.
-
As long as Sandaza is available, or McCulloch is not needed in defence, Ally will continue to play Little wide right.
