  1. Does anyone know which players we have that are out of contract at the end of this season?

Guys like Foderingham, Alwnick, Halliday, Flanagan, Barker, Murphy, Rossiter, Holt, Docherty & Hererra all seem surplus to requirements and don’t really feature much.

Surely getting them off the books completely will free up some wages to get 2 or 3 players of genuine quality?

I don't know how they do this, other than a share issue in the football club going to shareholders in the holding company and a transfer of trade and assets.

Not sure as to the reasons. It gets rid of the company called Sevco, and there could be some other legal reason linked to an ongoing case, but you can't get rid of liabilities by just transferring the trade to a subsidiary, or everyone would be doing it, so the other reasons are unclear.

i am no expert but it looks to me as it puts an end to effectively having two companies to run the football club?

i can’t see it having anything to do with sports direct, but possibly for a future share issue with non-supporter investors?

  3. really looking forward to this tonight. i have a strong feeling we will see a good number of youth players getting their chances next season.

i have heard a few saying trophies mean nothing at the younger ages BUT surely winning is a habit you must have at rangers regardless of the level?

Quite a few of the 'deadwood' have contracts up until summer 2020.

I actually only found that out the other day RE the 2020 contracts. Hopefully we can still move some of them on this summer, but my point still stands.

There is alot of wages going out which are doing nothing for us on the pitch, that has to change.

  5. Dunno if everyone has access too this but Michael had a two part interview on RTV and eventhough it was under 8 minutes long, I thought it was very insightful.

Spoke about out own mistakes this season which have caused ‘the gap’ between us and Celtic, gives examples of games we should of taken chances etc which in turn dropped us points this season.

He points out at the same stage last season we had conceded around double the amount of goals, so it is great to see we have improved there too.

Also points at some referee decisions which have cost us points.

At the end says they already half know their plan for building next season, again great to see the planning well under way.

Very refreshing to see a staff member saying the same things as myself, and other Bears I have spoke to, are saying.

I am buzzing for next season already.

  6. really good listen again. nice to hear steven say the same things i have been thinking regarding the state of our squad.

i think this season was always about building the foundations and next season we will really go for it.

    can’t wait actually.

  7. I think any bid between £10-15 million will see Rangers doing buisness.

Do I think he is worth more? Yes, but truth is we don’t really have a base to work from when it comes from when it comes to selling our players.

If I remember correctly the only player we have bought and made profit from since we sold Cuellar in 2008 is Martyn Waghorn and you will be lucky if that was £500k profit.

I know it is easy to look at what Celtic are moving their players on for but I don’t think it is as simple as that.

  8. Totally agree with the comments above.

A guy who looked like he was happy with a draw away from home against a Kilmarnock, Hibs, Hearts etc.

Job was far too big for him and comments like that prove it.

So happy we have a real winner in charge now ?

  9. Clyde SSB have an interview with Warburton RE us winning 55. Saying it was impossible in our first season - maybe true, but I would say that attitude is perhaps why Mr Warburton won’t ever succeed in top level football management?

The games against the Spaniards were always going to be the toughest. Best not expect much and a) don't get overly disappointed and b) mildly surprised if we snatch a point or more.

Biggest thing remains that no-one gets injured. Everything else is a bonus in this day and age.

Our defence was rather solid, I would expect to see McAuley from the start, given his vast international experience. Tavernier and Flanagan will IMHO also get starts, so it is up between Goldson, Worrall and Katic, with probablythe first one the pick of the bunch.

Jack is a certain starter and I wonder whether Coulibaly is ahead of Ejaria (I doubt it, but with the Liverpool loanees, you never know). Arfield should complete the midfield, not least for his attack-supporting threat.

Front line will most likely be Candeias, Morelos and Middleton. They carry the most threat and I would assume that we want to hit the Spaniards early on and hard. Thus ... 4-2-1-3 (i.e. a stretched 4-3-3)

    McGregor

    Tavernier - Goldson - McAuley - Flanagan

    Jack - Coulibaly

    Arfield

    Candeias - Morelos - Middleton

I think we need Coulibaly and Jack tonight but Gerrard does seem to have a soft spot for Ejaria.

  11. Tonight will be a real test to see how far we have came as a team in only a few short months. Hopefully Ibrox is rocking and we get a favourable result.

Gutted I won’t get to see it live as I will be at a gig in the Hydro but will be watching the full 90 when I get home. Hopefully I can avoid the score ?
