  1. Half watching the AZ game. Steinsson tackles Frings, the ball brakes to another Bremen player and from lying on the floor, Steinsson dives head first to tackle at the Werder players feet.

That's the kind of comittment I want. Wrongly booked for a handball.

    Absolute legend.

Whilst that is what scottish supporters prefer to trying to play football scottish football is going no-where

  2. Personally i don't give a shit what age they are as long as they score or do a job for Rangers. We do not have to offer ten year contracts, we can offer older players shorter contracts. I think if we would have had Tomasson instead of Sebo this year our league position might have been better.

IMO it´s ok and probably wise to have 2 or 3, even 4 experienced players in the team aslong as they´re fit and mobile and don´t suffer from re-curring injuries.

However to fill a side or even a particular area of the team with oldies isn´t a good idea.

Bringing in Weir on a 6 month contract was a shrewd signing, not mobile but experienced and an excellent defender. However to pair him with Ugo made our central defence very imobile and against the likes of Osasuna we had to defend deep because of this, playing Boyd as a lone striker then made the midfield (without a real box to box player) job a thankless task.

TBF Webster might have been playing had he not been injured.

We are very pedestrian as a team and don´t have the speed of Lovenkrands, in europe against decent teams this makes us easy to defend against (how many goals did Lovenhimself score in CL). Tomasson has been an excellent player but questions must be asked of his attitude if he´s leaving Villareal after signing for them in January 2007.

Too many times we´ve taken on "good" players who have been well paid but haven´t performed well for Rangers.

We will advance as a club on-field when we start to realise the potential of our youngsters and not let their careers drift in the "Scottish way".

Buying the good, ambitious, hungry for success players from England or abroad is now financially beyond us. Operating in the spl ensures this.

  3. He is only 31 and now with villareal.

His age will make Walter sit up and take notice, he likes them in their 30´s !

I personally like my girls to be in their 30´s but footballer´s joining Rangers to be younger.

  4. Murray and Co. have been grossly negligent over this affair.

Had it been one of his other companies or him himself he would have been "fighting back" with positive PR, counter claims etc. but Rangers and it´s supporters don´t mean much to the man.

  5. Can't agree with you on Ugo, i think he's been pretty poor. Bar his goal against Celtic, think he looks sluggish and his distribution is poor. Wouldn't be sad to see him moved on

Ugo was "hide behind the couch there´s a bombscare" material in the 2 european ties against Osasuna.

At Ibrox, he looked like a supporter randomly picked from the enclosure 5 minutes before KO, given a shirt and told "your playing mate" !

A 6 month deal ok but 18 months wasn´t good business.

  6. They went into overdrive to promote SDM planting comments and articles by "legends" in the media when he was coming in for criticism/protests in the autumn.

Other than that, haven´t done anything that I´ve noticed.

ie. Mediahouse seems to work for Murray but does little to protect Rangers.

  7. I'm saying that in europe WS is out of his depth. I'm also saying that PLG knew how to play the euro game and did it well. AM did OK in europe. He got us into the last 16 of the CL but also got us pumped out of the UEFA Cup due to his shocking tactics and team selection against Auxerre.

Personally, I think that if PLG was in charge for the Osasuna games we would've gone through.

Under PLG we would have had a better chance.

We´d also have had Clement who is a better foil/ compliment to the others.

Thomson or Clement, I´d rather have the Frenchman to be honest but all the best to Kevin, let´s hope he can be a player. However I´m sure we´ve paid over the odds for him.

  8. 12 games undefeated prior to WS taking charge and in his 4 euro games in charge he's been beaten twice. He just can't hack it in europe. There's no point us turning up to matches in europe cause we all know what's going ot happen.

Walter should be sent on midweek breaks to Perth or Inverness when we have a european fixture.

  9. OK, 4-5-1 wasn't what we wanted to see, but did he have much choice? Prso can't last 90 minutes. Boyd is a waste of time and space in Europe according to many. Sebo at least runs his heart out, but so far, doesn't look like actually scoring. Novo lacks composure and seems to be better used out wide where he can beat players and cut inside, something which our winger doesn't seem to do that often.

We had a good run in Europe but I think we just have to accept that this season is over and all we really need WS to do is to get 2nd place.

Anyway, his tactics against Tel Aviv were never questioned as we won. The same tactics failed last time out because the players never turned up. Look around our squad just now, we really don't have many quality players at all, for any formation, let alone a 4-5-1.

...............................Marks out of 10 / WS

    Tel Aviv (A) LOST...................2

    Tel Aviv (H) WIN.....................6

    Osasuna (H) DRAW..................0

    Osasuna (A) LOST...................3

    Before Walter 12 games undefeated.

  10. fucking deplorable, smith again and his awful tactics 4-5-1 don't work when you don't have the players for it and as for the fans, you know my feelings on them they bring shame on our club again.

Smith, tactics, deplorable, yes feckin awful I agree.

First leg was bad even for Walter and his european history.

Bit quick to judge with the supporters in Pamplona, reports of provaction and police going in with batons at first oppoutunity. Also Bears hurt. :(

  11. This was the team that Osasuna were using at training this morning

    Ricardo,

Javier Fla±o, Cruchaga, Josetxo y Corrales,

    Azpilicueta, Nekounam, Pu±al y Juanlu,

    Web³ y Romeo,

    source

    http://www.osasuna.es/dev/actualidad...el-rangers-fc_

Last week this source was correct with Osasuna team 2days prior to KO.

Seem to be playing same defence as used v Valencia (ie.better "on paper" than they used at Ibrox)

2 midfielders brought in, Juanlu who played at Ibrox and Azpilicueta

Up front Soldado drops out for Romeo (resting Soldado, on bench), Webo, the guy who assaulted Weir is playing.

  14. If Rae plays and Prso doesnt then that tells me something about Walter!! With these 2 were almost talking about our worst and best players and the worst is likely to play ahead of a man who can change the game for us.

With Ferguson out Prso HAS TO PLAY as he is the one who can make the difference on the night even if we get 70 mins out of him.

Play Prso with Sebo so Sebo does all the running.

    Yes mate

Prso for the first hour and try and build a platform for qualification.

My guess is that Walter will do it the other way around.

However before he goes for it, the dream could be over.

Walter has been blaming players, asking for players to stand up to the challange. Walter needs to field a team in a formation that makes it possible.

Walter enjoys an "untouchable" status with regard to the media for the time being and got away with it last week and fielding a team/formation that meant Rangers were going to struggle, isolating Boyd up front who we all know isn´t suited to that role.

  15. It's a massive task ahead of us tomorrow night, maybe too big, i just don't know if we are capable of getting a victory over there, 1-0 will do but i can see them scoring,so obviously as long as we score more than them we'll go through, but it will take some performance and hopefully with winning at P******D the players should be confidant going into the game, but is it too much of an ask ?

Whilst I can see us giving a reasonable image (please don´t play Rae) I really can´t see us going through, maybe a "glorious defeat a la Escoc©s".

  16. I´m afraid the game will pass Rae by, the spaniards will be fitter, sharper, technically superior and on top of him when the ball gets to his feet.

Please don´t do it Walter,...you got away with it to a certain extent on sunday but Osasuna are better than selick...and we need a goal
