From Talksport.

Norwich are locked in a battle with Rangers and Saint-Etienne to sign Lokomotiv Moscow striker Dmitri Sychev.

Sychev, 27, is rated one of the best forwards in Russia and has been attracting interest from a number of European clubs.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert is keen to strengthen his squad in January and has been strongly linked with a move for the Russian international. But he will have to act fast if he wants to sign the prolific forward as reports in Russia suggest that both Rangers and Saint-Etienne are also making strong moves to sign him.

I smell shite. How can we afford one of Russia's best strikers?

I thought Russian teams were 'taking' all the decent players due to the many new multi-millionaire oil tycons?

Although, when we win the title, we can guarentee him European football next year, providing he doesn't cost anything.

I can't believe we'll be able to afford this player even if he's on a free because other clubs will offer him far higher wages. He's joint second top scorer in the Europa League Group stages at the moment with 3 goals in 3 appearances. Only Suarez of Anderlecht has scored more goals in the EL group stage with 5 goals.

It's very probable that Jelavic will go in January, he's just said that Rangers have a close family like quality to themselves.

He'll need to go on a scoring run so we can get £10+ million for him though!
