Labour call for SPL clubs to be docked points for fans' offensive chanting

Recommended Posts

Lemme get this right. The Offensive Behaviour Bill is due to go for its final vote in Parliament on Wednesday and Labour decide that 48 hours before hand is about the right time to come up with some alternative measures that they think should be implemented instead? Gies peace ya no mark fuds.

Labour are correct to the extent that the "reasonably practicable" wording in the SPL Rule means that no Club has ever been found guilty of unacceptable conduct by their supporters.

As has been clearly demonstrated by UEFA in Rangers case and only today with Celtic, the only way to hit the Clubs is in their pockets or in terms of closed grounds or ultimately loss of points.

However, this would mean the SPL adopting "strict liability" and there is no way that is going to happen unless it is forced on them by the Government.
