When's Lafferty back?

Recommended Posts

What I'd read was that this game is too early for him and so will the Dunfermline game, which is no big problem. The way I understood the report is that he could be in the reckoning after that.

That would mean easying him back into the Rangers/Killie game on the 18th and maybe starting him against ICT away on the 26th.

We live in hope.

Lafferty's problem in the past is that he wasn't a first pick in his preferred position, things have changed now and he must be bursting to get fit and be pivotal in our quest for 55.

I cant wait for the big guy to recover he's gonna be very influential over the last 10 games or so. Basically he was key to 52, 53 & 54.

With Jela gone and Naisy injured he's probably our best striker. Not a great state of affairs compared to previous season's but if he can do his usual turn in the last part of the season he may help keep us in it.

There's no 'probably' about it, Lafferty is our best striker, then Healy, then................

... Hemmings, who is back in training for a while, but according to his own words (twitter), about two weeks away from the first team.

On a sidenote, Aluko can play in the free-roving free-shooting Laudrup role, though I would assume that Ally saw that Wylde is not that much of a help on the right. Hence I would give Aluko the right wing slot (with some freedom), keep Wallace on the left (with the order to attack and shoot from all angles), and use Celik as an inside left just behind Healy. All midfielders though should get the order to have a go at the target.

We were 1 dimensional at the weekend but not in the normal way people use this term. Any ball in the air or requiring physical presence was a waste. The opposition didn't have to worry about crosses, we were never going to score from 1. Many wont like this but we need a big man upfront as it gives us options and allows us to play high/long balls if we need to. Not every ball but to mix it up and give the opposition something more to worry about.

He only just started doing some running again at MP last week, so isn't back in full training yet. I fully expect him to be brought back in too early and get injured again quite quickly because that seems to be how things are getting done at MP. According to Elfideldo, Kane's had 4, yes FOUR knee operations in the past year.
