Rangers squad reject request to play rest of season without pay

Yes, born in Fontana / California. As I said, he's probably as much a Nigerian as Mesut Ã?zil is a Turk.

I don't understand your point. Edu will consider himself "African American", since he's both both American and African. Ozil is both Turkish and German, so what's your point?

Db, I think you are missing the point that BH made, which is that he is from Nigerian DESCENT. His Nigerian parents make that statement factual. Plus adds relevance in the context that BH found the reference to "darkies" offensive

Thank you, that was precisely my point.

Let me just clarify, if I may.

No question that Edu was born in the US and therefore will be a US citizen and has played for the US on numerous occasions.

No question that Aluko was born in England and appears to have dual UK/Nigerian nationality although most sites list him as Nigerian and he has played for England at all levels up to <19 but switched to the Nigerian team in 2009.

Equally no question that both are of Nigerian descent inasmuch as Edu's parents are Nigerian and Aluko's family if not his parents are Nigerian.

My point is that in my view it is offensive per se and it is doubly offensive given that we have two players of Nigerian descent in our team to say even jokingly that if the article referred to is true "I'm a darkie with a lean towards white folks of the gender bender sort".
