Zappa 0 Posted April 19, 2012 Share Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) What on earth is going on with Duff & Phelps, the administrators milking the cliff-edge insolvency situation at Ibrox? The bidding & potential club takeover process that the administrators Paul Clark and David Whitehouse of Duff & Phelps are supposed to be dealing with swiftly and decisively for the sake of the club and it's creditors has descended into a complete and utter farce. Between the 'joint' administrators' own contradictions over the past two months and the actions of various parties supposedly interested in buying and saving the club, the whole shambles is reminiscent of some sort of perverse form of doing the Hokey Cokey. You put your first bid in. You take your first bid out. In out, in out. Shake it all about. You put your second bid in. You take your second bid out. In out, in out. Shake it all about. Sadly, it seems to me like it's the people who claim to have the best interests of Rangers Football Club at heart who are messing about doing a silly party dance instead of trying to expedite a takeover process and save Scotland's greatest football club. These are the same people who've repeatedly been saying via the press and media that they want to speed up the sale process, that they want to save the club from the prospect of liquidation. So why does it clearly look as though they keep messing about and delaying the sale process they claim to want to expedite? The administrators themselves as well as two of the four supposedly serious bidders appear to be slowing down the sale process rather than speeding it up. What is going on here? Do these people have the brass neck to be playing games with one another while the club hangs over a cliff edge? I only ask because it seems rather obvious to everyone other than the administrators and certain bidders that indecisiveness and constant posturing isn't helping the process of saving Rangers from liquidation. A lot of people are starting to wonder if despite what they all say, these people actually want to save Rangers from liquidation. That's an extremely disappointing thing to be contemplating over two months after the club entering administration considering what these guys have been saying all along, but actions speak louder than words and their actions don't even come close to matching their words. The clock is ticking on this administration process more loudly and ominously by the day because a club the size of Rangers (with huge monthly bills) can't afford for it to take much longer. The joint administrators from Duff & Phelps didn't create the mess our club finds itself in today, but they accepted the task of sorting it out and so far they don't appear to have sorted out very much at all. There are always 2 sides to the story. They've already binned Kennedy and the Germans. At present there are 5 partied all involved (4 bidders & the Admins). Every one is quick to blame the admins, yet seem to forget about the other parties in the deal making process. Now, I'm not say that its not the admins holding things up, but based in the facts that are available, it is impossible to say for certain where the delays are coming from. I'm not solely blaming the administrators and I've deliberately left a lot of things out of this wee rant because there's more than two sides to this situation with Whyte & Ticketus being key players as well, but the administrators and certain bidders have delayed the process and ultimately it's the administrators (highly paid) job to sort out this mess. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
