Thomson to referee 'Old Firm' game.

Recommended Posts

Aye him, same bloke who sent TWO Rangers players off in 2010 League Cup final, same bloke who awarded us a penalty then changed his decision in the 2011 final, same bloke who awarded that penalty to Stokes for running into Davis with seven minutes left at Ibrox last season the one McGregor saved and gave us hope of 3 in a row.

Wonder when after we defeat them on Sunday TLB will say the ref is biased?

Here's the gig.

We win - Thomson will be crucified. All the usual calls for transparency/clarity will ensue.

They win - no mention of Thomson. Cavalier football, Lennon's a tactical genius, Sellik to win the Champions League, ..................... yada, yada, yada

A draw - certain aspects of Thomson's performance will come under considerable scrutiny. Expect BBC Scotland's highlight package to be extended to bring the full spotlight to bear.

If a referee, any referee, had a history against Celtic like Thomson has against Rangers then we would be reading about it all over the papers. I still can't get the penalty he gave last year in the final old firm game out my head. Basically he tried to hand Celtic the league with one of the worst decisions ever. That decision alone should see him precluded from this game.

Sky sports now saying Calum Murray will replace Craig Thomson as referee for Sundays old firm match, Thomson unable to officiate game due to family reasons!

Aye, his family have told him that he takes charge of the game he will be crucified regardless of the result by the hooped hordes.
