Official: Sandaza, Emilson and Kyle sign

Possibly wishful thinking but these signings are certainly SPL calibre signings. Which makes you think there may be moves afoot to "re-organise" the game.

Obviously we would want to be back there but it is tough on the SFL clubs who did actually show sporting integrity, unlike their corrupt SPL counterparts.

People keep saying this, personally I just think Green and his investors are going for it.

They'll want us to be able to challenge for the SPL in three years rather than making up the numbers. And with the transfer ban this also makes sure we don't get caught out in Division 2, Brechin showed that there's still a job to be done in these matches.

I hope Green knows what he's doing because we're spending massive amounts on wages considering the division we'll be playing in. Spending out with our means time and time again got us into this situation.

We can but hope that they have a properly thought out business plan and budget.

But if we think about it, Sandaza is on, say, 5k a week and we lost, for instance, Whittaker who was on 20k a week. So that is a 75% wage reduction. Given ST's are discounted by 30% that still leaves wiggle room. Crowds will be lower (probably) but if the rumours of 35k ST's is true then not by a great deal. Sponsorships will be lower too but given the major income is from ST's (and at 35k we would be about on par with prior years) whilst major expense is player wages (if we can consistently get 50-75% lower waged players coming in than those who left) then these wages are still feasible to be paid.

Green's time at Sheffield Utd indicates he's sensible with finances, indeed being tight and selling two of their best players is mainly why he was unpopular.

No European money, next to no TV money, attendances for cups etc will be tiny. All cause for concern. Plus this club seems to have a knack for having a big black hole that sucks up millions and millions a year. Paying > £20k per week for dross like Whittaker is what had us on our knees while we had European money coming in. Just because he's gone, it doesn't mean we're suddenly hitting massive profit.

Nobody is saying we are hitting massive profit though DA. All I am saying is that it isnt a case of replacing wage for wage. Savings will be made on wages, for sure. Will it be enough to cover the loss of income (European is a bit of a red herring, at least as far as last season is concerned) ? We dont know.

But Charles Green will be a FOOL if he allows us to go down that same path again. We are in Div 3, we can still afford decent wages on players if we get the fans through the turnstiles. Not the 20k per week we paid McGregor, Davis, Whittaker et al, but at 5k a week we should still be OK.

But I dont know the intricacies of our finances.

Since we're free of tax cases etc I guess we'll start releasing accounts again, whenever they're due?
