Rangers defeated Real Zaragossa 2-0, at Ibrox but lost the return match in Spain by the same margin. After 30 minutes of extra time, the teams were still level so the game was decided on the toss of a coin. John Greig still has the coin amongst his football memorabilia. In 1951 whilst playing for East Fife, Harold was called up to do his national service and was sent to fight in the Korean War. Unfortunately, he was badly wounded and took two years to make a full recovery.
