Vanguard Bears - just who are they?

Recommended Posts

They, by their own accounts, are representing the fans. Their views don't represent my own. Instead of using the club as a political voice, why don't they just start a PUL political party which they could use to promote their way of life?

You could turn that around and ask why you don't start a supporters group to support the club your way, instead of telling everyone what their doing is wrong.

Not one person has shown me or explained how shouting political/paramilitary/religious chants "supports" the team.

If being a PUL is important to you, then go ahead. Just don't attach it to the club.

It adds to the atmosphere in the stadium, do you think the players actually listen to what the crowd chant during a game ?

They get a lift from the atmosphere created in the stadium, but I doubt they can make out or even care whats being chanted most of the time .

They see Rangers as an extension of their community, they want to protect that community from attack this is their way of doing it.

Rangers means many different things to many different people its what makes us so great imo. Their not asking everybody to join them in fact going by the piece they make it damn hard to join, they don't even ask that you agree with them. They put a lot of time, effort and going by the article a damn lot of money into Rangers.

I know you don't want that baggage as you call it at the club and that's your right to have those views, the thing is though I haven't heard one person on here or anywhere else say they wouldn't you as a fellow Bear sitting in Ibrox on a Saturday.

So why can't you let them support their team their way?

So, it doesn't matter what they sing just as long as they sing and create an atmosphere?

And again, how does it "SUPPORT" the team?

Let put this another way there is folk who go to Ibrox and won't say a word or sing a song, or worst of all sit and moan about everything to do with Rangers.

How are they supporting the team? Should they be told you must sing Rangers songs to create an atmosphere or your not welcome.
