Rangers to pay jelavic debt

Recommended Posts

Morally, I agree with you, of course it is the right thing to do, however, it is massively hypocritical of the SFA to withhold money from the Club but expect that we will pay every football debt. Surely they cannot have it both ways?

I think we can take their boak-inducing hypocricy for read, Davie...but it doesn't matter a damn what the weasels at the SFA or SPL do or don't do, or how many ways they try to have it - *we* should do the right thing. The one 'debt' I would withhold is the one to Dundee Utd until such time as Charles Green is proved to be wrong about it.

I must admit I have always wondered why football depbts should be different - and one day all this will get tested in a court of law - but as organisations like the SFA/UEFA/FIFA control club registrations if they have a condition that says old debt must be hounoured to get a licence then football 'rules' and the laws of the land are in conflict but until challenged we have to conform.

HMRC lost a court case recently to get the football creditors rule in England scrapped I think.

Seems to me that football should have a rule that players are paid for fully up front. That would help prevent clubs getting into so much crippling debt and stop clubs from losing money from an insolvency event.

I really don't agree with these instalments and in our case have shown what a nightmare they can be.
