Derbies are not big loss

we wouldnt swap it for the champions league either. they are very lucky. guaranteed at least 20 million revenue just from a euro run this year. if they qualify again next year they will be even further ahead of us. it will take us years to catch up with them. the financial implosion at celtic we were told about from rangers fans was never going to happen. they know how to run their club.

â??We are different clubs with different values' date=' histories, [b'][/b]standards, traditions and different offerings"

Eh? Do you care to expand on that Pete? Histories and traditions are one thing. They cannot be measured but IMO values and standards are measurable? Are you suggesting your club has greater values and standards? It wouldn't be like you to adopt the moral high ground....

of course he is. maybe ambition would have been a better word, they certainly have more ambition than us.

I don't get how you see that?. Why do you think that?.

they believe they belong in the latter stages of euro competition, deluded or not, that is ambition. they are not afraid of and can compete with europes very best. they are not scared to carry a huge wage bill and pay top dollar for the best players. they saw a vision when building their stadium and made sure they had the biggest club ground in the country meaning they would be the richest club in the country and afford the best players in the counry. the believe they can beat anyone, deluded or not, they have proven they can. clubs all over europe dread going to celtic park because they know it is one of the hardest grounds in europe to get a result. celtic keep telling the world they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and deserve to be in amongst the big boys and have the best supporters in the world, deluded or not, people believe crap like that.

we on the other hand, count european football as a bonus onto our domestic season and tend to just make up the numbers, we are afraid to play the big boys as has been seen with our restrictive anti football tactics under walter smith. we are terrified to pay players the going rate and have lost out on several players to celtic because we refused to match their ambition. we thought 50000 would be enough to see us through the decades and refused to match celtics capacity when they blew us out the water with theirs, we also didnt take into account the rest of the world catching up with us with their stadiums too. as soon as they built their ground they meant business, we went out and blew 4m after 4m on over paid mercenaries with no resale values. we dont believe we can beat anyone, we feel lucky if we are able to just compete with european minnows and recently, we cant even do that. no club in europe fears coming to ibrox to play, they now fancy their chances. we keep telling the world we are a big club, i am not sure anyone believes us. we certainly do not get taken seriously.

that is how i see it. i blame david murray and martin bain. we have had many a chance to properly take over again and put them to bed but not once did we ever take it we always resorted back to type. short termism.

of course celtic wont miss old firm games because that means we are not in the same division as them and that means they have a free run at the champions league with the cash benefits for at least another four or five years the rangers will have to get back into a top flight sooner rather than later .
