£4m Allan McGregor to sign for West Brom

Recommended Posts

SCOTLAND keeper Allan McGregor has agreed a £4million switch to West Brom at the end of the season, according to reports in Turkey.

The Besiktas star had another fine performance for the national team on Wednesday as Gordon Strachan made a winning start to his reign with a 1-0 friendly victory over Estonia at Pittodrie.

McGregor nearly moved to England on transfer deadline day with West Brom, Fulham and Wigan all keen to land him on loan.

However, Besiktas boss Samet Aybaba blocked the move because he wanted to keep the 31-year-old until the end of the season with the Turks pushing for a Champions League place.

But the former Rangers stopper, who cost Besiktas nothing, will now be sold at the end of the season.

Turkish media have already reported that the deal is done and McGregor has been told he can leave at the end of the domestic campaign after just one year at Besiktas.

And they have already targeted Standard Liegeâ??s Turkish shot-stopper Sinan Bolat to replace him.

McGregor has made 18 appearances for Besiktas this term and made 205 SPL starts for Rangers during a 14-year career at Ibrox.

Now he is set to relaunch his career in England next season.
