This 'team of kids' stuff is a load of nonsense. Yes, the rest of their squad outside of the first XI is supplemented with relatively inexperienced youths, but they have some older players and quite a lot of experience in their first team.

1st choice Goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald is 27, vastly experienced and he's played over 100 games for Hearts, including 23 games this season.

Defender Jamie Hamill is 27 and he's played in the Scottish top flight his whole career. 24 games he's played this season.

Attacking midfielder Ryan Stevenson is 29, vastly experienced and has played for Hearts in 15 games this season.

Defender and Captain Danny Wilson is 22. Rangers youths + 1st team, Champions League, English leagues, International caps. 1st class pedigree, top notch experience and he's played in 21 games for Hearts this season.

Defender Dylan McGowan (Ryan's brother) is 22 and he's got 89 professional football appearances including 46 for Hearts (24 this season). After a loan to East Fife 3 seasons ago, their manager John Robertson said that McGowan was too good for that level.

Midfielder Scott Robinson is only 21, but very experienced. Started making regular 1st team appearances 4 years ago with 14 for Hearts in the 2009-10 season, he's now made 90 Hearts first team appearances including 25 games this season.

20 year old midfielder, Callum Tapping was in the Celtic youths for 5 years, moved to Hamilton Accies for a year and then got snapped up by Spurs where he ended up making 27 Premier Reserve League appearances for Spurs in the 2010-11 season before coming back up here to join Hearts.

On top of those experienced players they have at least 4 or 5 semi-experienced 20 year olds who've been featuring in the top flight and going out on loan for 2 to 3 seasons, some of whom (like Jamie Walker) have up to 75 professional appearances.

Not exactly a team of kids in my book.
